Definitely a crypt. Looks like wendtii. Once it establishes the leaves will be much longer and thin. Awesome 👍

Hi there, I think it does look like a crypt, what kind exactly, I feel it's hard to tell yet. I might pull it up just a tiny bit so that where the leaf stems meet is just on the surface of the gravel. Love your peacock gudgeon and scape! 🙂👍

Oh wow thank you so much. I'll do that, but it's not planted deep because the gravel isn't deep like an inch at most, and the sand is too hard packed to push down. So if I pull it up, it's might come completely out. I probably just don't have the right set-up for plants in substrate. Thank you for the compliment. Yes my nitrates were way too high. They've been consistently below 20ppm for 2 days...lol. so I'm working on the hair algae. I'm gonna try pulling it up a bit now. Yesterday when I planted it was the first time I had used my aquascaping tools...lol. thanks again

It doesn't look to me like a crypt as their leaves are more crinkly, it does look like a young Amazon sword.

Well, I took a picture and sent it to a buddy who is the Mgr of the fish dept at a fish store. He thinks it's a crypt and sent me a pic of one on his tank that he just planted, and it looks almost identical. The other leaf is kind of in the shade, and it's a little more crinkled like you said. I'll move it out of the shade

@peridot-20 well, he's not saying "for sure" either lol. But we'll see as it grows out. I went to take that leaf out of the shade and it totally uprooted it. I clipped the roots and used my aquascaping tools to plants it and put the root tab in.

@@FishRfun Well it would up root it but clipping the roots won't hurt & they'll soon grow feeding from the base. Well it's just waiting to see what it matures to.

Oh really? I don't think my substrate will grow swords...we'll see, but I don't want it to just rot and foul the water. Plus I also just put a root tab in when I'm trying to lower my nitrates

I can't swear it's a sword but judging by the redness to the one leaf it's go a good chance & it should do well the rate your other plants grow at & the root tab will help it.

Oh...the nitrates are down to less rhan 10ppm, but I've still got the hair algae. I guess the nerite snails and panda garra will eat it.

@@FishRfun Yeah just keep it like that for a while, you are using root tabs, and some of the nutrients leak into the water column so nutrition shouldn't be a problem 😀
