Love the comfort of the Mystery Ranch packs my favourite I use a lot is the 6500 pack on the NICE frame.

It's the pouches that put it over the top i think lol it is a tiny bit smaller than the 6500 and t100 I do believe, but for canadian winters I definitely need every cubic inch, until I can afford a single sleeping bag that can handle -30c because right now I'm using two sleeping bags to get me down to those temps

Thank you for answer! Does this mean that if you pack heavily, your hipbelt slides down your hips? So isn't it bad? Isn't it good to stay in the pelvic bone? What's the difference between nice frame and guide light mt frame?

The mt is a thinned down version of the guide light original, it has a hip belt that cups your pelvic bones to prevent slippage while under weight, its also a 5 piece hip belt whereas the regular guidelight is a 3 piece, so the mt has a more snug fit, iv never used the nice frame but the tactiplane I have is similar and I can say it transfers the weight great with minimal slippage, take into account I'm a slimmer dude so no medium belt fits me perfectly, the nice frame is a bit heavy and it the platform for most of the military packs in their line, the mt is gear to hunting ,both are modular frames , but their use cases are different, both use cases are physically demanding but the military line is geared to guys who are jumping out of helicopters , and rolling in the dirt so I'd say military specd packs take more abuse, hope this helps

Watching the evolution of your gear is neat, whatever happened to the ILBE you were using? I have been building a couple of new (to me) rucks over the last few months because I finally managed to score not one but two Canadian C2 ruck frames. One is original riveted and the other is the one that Beaver Surplus was having made up a few years ago and is welded. I love external frames and may modify my flecktarn Bundeswehr ruck to fit an external frame.

I sold my ilbe to get the mystery ranch pintler which I recently traded for that massive tactiplane, im open to any pack frame internal or external, the pintler had a external frame (the guide light frame) and id say it pushed comfort and load transfer over the top with loads around 40lbs highly recommend it if you can find one at a decent price!

I'm not familiar with the Canadian mil packs I started with Alice n moved up the with the us molle 2 ,till I found mystery ranch n have been hooked ever since, mostly because of their yoke system , its just something ud have to try to see what I mean, I also like how the frame stays on their packs (including external framed packs) are sewn into sleeves allowing the frame to twist and move with your Natural motion where as a traditional metal or plastic frame does not twist so when you move, the whole bag moves, and you feel the pack swing , I think you'd like mystery ranches guide light frame as it is external and the original guidelights are getting very affordable on the mr buy n sell group on fb , the moved to the gl mt frame now so the old ones are alot cheaper, but still epic, I know jimbows archery in Calgary and Edmonton carry the new mt frames, I encourage you to check em out n test one out if your ever interested 😀 it's worth a test, just dont look at the price tag lol

I got lucky so far ,I just go for past year models at a clearance price or like these recent ones i got were manufacturered over a decade ago and the one came like new from ebay , otherwise theres no way I'd spend 500 to 1300 cad for a current one depending on the mr pack it can be insane

The guide light MT frame is not good? Is Nice frame more comfortable and better? I heard that the Guide light MT frame supports up to 150lbs. What do you think?

I'm sure the guidlight mt is the best comfort wise, the regular guidelight is awesome too ,all that's wrong with it is it slips down on your hips with heavy loads where as the mt has a belt similar to the nice frame, and stays on your hips, all are great options
