This movie reminded me of Albert Einstein. Before his death, he specifically said that he didn't want his brain to be studied. However, in 1955, his brain was removed 7 hours after his death. Thomas Harvey, a pathologist, stole the brain, carved it into 240 pieces and stored it in a jar in his basement. The public didn't know until 1978. When asked why he did it, he simply said that he wanted to unlock the secret to genius. It's kinda messed up isn't it? Find a reason strong enough, and anyone can disregard ethics and decency for their own self interest.

There are such eerie connections to the horrible practice of salvaging dying people for their organs instead of letting them die in peace. People often forget that organs cannot be taken from the dead, so the victims are still alive, sometimes get painkillers, because they can still feel pain. Their blood pressure rises dramatically when they are cut open and there are horrible stories of families of organ "donors" seeing their loved one with a face full of pain and fear. They must have been terrified and their precious last hours were filled with horror.

This shit is dumb. Today we ALREADY have technology where our computers are faster and more reliable than the fucking human brain. He average person can’t remember what they ate in the morning, no one would a human brain as a hard drive. Same can be said for “Birthing” that’s not the way uteruses work, u can’t shoot oxygen and food into a female corpse and expect it to sustain life, you need a moving breathing exercising human for that, in addition the market simply wouldn’t exist, our tech already allows us to pay living surrogates to give birth, would u rather a zombie baby or one who is born by a surrogate u get to interact with and surveil

@@sola_a Obviously it's disrespectful of the dead and their family members. But if reanimated people aren't conscious, they aren't suffering. The bigger issue is poverty in my opinion. There are far worse dystopian fictional worlds out there, e.g. Alita the Battle Angel.
@sola_a3 жыл бұрын
@@henrytang2203 so by your logic that guy who rped a woman who had been in a vegetative state for like two decades and had to give birth as a result should go to jail? Since she isn't actually there? Common, this type of stuff is just unethical, you can't just claim someone's body as your property and do with it as you please. We should maintain people's dignity even past death
@henrytang22033 жыл бұрын
@@sola_a Such a crime cannot be condoned because some people in a coma have woken up. But in the context of the film. If the dead person's body remains as a 'shell', it's merely disrespect and not suffering. If I was a citizen of that world, I'd be primarily concerned with getting more out of life.

I do believe it would be an unethical practice to use people's bodies after death, and the greed is terrible. Yet...I also don't see how terrible it is. The people are dead, so it's not like they're feeling anything. It's pretty much like forcing people to donate their bodies after death.

I just have to say it. The death insurance makes no sense whatsoever. First of all, it's not insurance. Everyone is going to die - it's not like fire or flood insurance, where the disaster you're hedging against might not happen. With "death insurance," you're just paying for a service. "Insurance" is a completely inaccurate word for it. Second, the company only owns your body if you're in debt. Rich people who can "afford death insurance" would have absolutely no need for it, because they wouldn't be in debt at the time of their death anyway. Third, what exactly is this service? The only thing that makes sense is that it's a cancellation of your debt after death. But... why would anyone sell this to a delinquent debtor who has no hope of repaying that debt? This product literally, economically, CANNOT exist. It's essentially a contract to pay off a person's debt, which, of course, would be priced very close to the price of the debt itself. BY FAR the cheaper option than this bullshit would be to just not carry debt if you can afford to, or if you want to carry debt, just collateralize it with other assets. Insurance as a method of paying off debt is just pointless. By definition, the only people for whom this product would matter are poor people, in debt, who can't pay it off, and by definition, they won't be able to afford it, because it's literally just the same debt repackaged. I know you're not supposed to think about it and just go "ooh, death insurance, dark, okay let's go" but... ugg. Our society is so economically illiterate, and things like this just exacerbate that.
@ccannon17 ай бұрын
This is exactly what I said! This is so dumb, plus what if you die in a way that your body is unusable? Like you’re blown up or something. And if you have a heart attack and die, how can they revive you? If you can be revived, why did you die from whatever disease you did? It doesn’t make sense! What if I jump into the ocean and they never get my body? there’s so many ways around this.
