11:40 that photo is of Max Factor, creator of the cosmetics line, using his apparatus for the perfection of applying makeup for black and white movies. Makeup for movies before color film used varying shades of green on the entire face to make the best use of shadows and contour. It had nothing to do with anthropology.

Your funniest episode ever! 🤣 I liked the masks and those steampunk hairdryers most. Very good, I laughed a lot! Herzlichen Dank. 👍🥰👍

Thank you! This is a really interesting video. Born in the 50s, I well remember my grandmother and mother getting "perms", using a portable hairdryer, and friends ironing their hair. I'm so thankful to have never had to endure the various hardships you've shown 😂😂😂

I might be in the minority but I always liked just a little makeup on a woman. To much was a no brainer for me.

My best friend in Sri Lanka is naturally gorgeous. She is fortunate to get away with no makeup at all and continues to look gorgeous as she ages. She is early 50’s. little makeup looks good on her but the more she adds the worse she looks and no longer resembles herself at all.
