Being a great fan of Bathory from the very beginning i love this cover . Don't forget that Quorthon can be considered the father of black metal and only later of the viking/black . he also was probably the first singer who introduce the growl vocals in 1983 and Hammerheart has been his first album with clean vocals . Personally i think that this cover keep alive the old spirit of Bathory and i'm sure that Quorthon would appreciate this one very much R.I.P

No matter you opinion. Bathory really is the archetype of Black Metal. Influenced by does not make them "the father of." That argument would make Mozart the father of shred guitar. While there are other early Black Metal bands, prior to being named as a sub genre (Venom is cited a NWOBHM), Bathory is what all Black Metal bands followed. The raw sound, witchy vocals, and satanic themes.

Actually not a bad cover, it takes the song and does its own style with it. Doesnt try to replicate the original song but makes it its own. Too many covers try to be 1:1 of the original.

Clear vocals doesn't have to be devoid of agression. The original of this song has immense feeling in concatenation to the lyrics... I like this version aswell as it's angry yet gloomy. Really gloomy and powerful... Prefer original still as Quorthons voice and the instrumentation sound of the band is irreplacable... Yet this song deserves 5 stars. Interesting and original cover!

I love Bathory but i found this even better than the original because the original lack tempo, energy etc and i bet Quorthon even then started to feel his alcolism knock on his shoulder and feel worn out.
