Impact's summon theme from Ganbare Goemon: Neo Momoyama Bakufu No Odori, or better known in the USA as Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon. This came directly from my import copy. Enjoy.

This is one of the best moments in a video game I can think of. The game had already been amazing up until this point, but being sucked into the mouth of a giant robot OUT OF NOWHERE... WHO HAS HIS OWN THEME SONG... I near shit my pants out of ecstasy when I got here for the first time. Oh man the nostalgias.

I remember getting a new issue of Nintendo Power and my mom letting me stay up late with a flashlight reading about this game. But nothing could have prepared me for, after a few hours of playing a relatively tame 3D platformer, suddenly getting sucked into a giant robot with its own theme song after blowing into a conch shell, promptly beginning to destroy every building in sight. My brothers and I stared in awe as this scene unfolded. One of the most memorable gaming moments I can think of.
@OtakuMan264 жыл бұрын
harvestsun The presentation. The build up with the theme song. The change in gameplay. It let you know something special was going on. You’re practically cheering as you build up to the boss and prepare for a massive robot fight. And then when you beat them, the glint in the eye just makes it all the more sweet.

I had the Japanese version of this game as a kid, and I still fucking loved it. This was and still is my favorite part by far, when, without any understandable explanation, some crazy mother fucking music started playing, and I was sucked into a giant robot, wherein I got to trample the country side, and fight another giant robot. I still to this day avoid the English translation, because I really don't want to have any clue what's going on, I just get the feeling this game is better without exposition.
@Aenygma_9 жыл бұрын
Haha so true, if you were a western kid who knew nothing about Japan and played this, it was a complete and absolute mindfuck.
@Samuraiedge29 жыл бұрын
Gonna tell ya, some things were censored in the english version.
@ABSabio9 жыл бұрын
A good example is in this clip, Goemon says "kono okama", or "this tranny/fag." I think in the English version it was changed to "you weirdo." But the character he calls an okama also refers to himself using the word "atashi", the feminine usage of "watashi" (I/me), further implying his effeminacy. This also would've been lost in translation to English, because there really aren't gender-specific words that are equivalent. The more you know.

I remember when this game first came out. It was like 97 or 98 or sometime around it. I used to rent my games from a blockbuster up the street. I walked pass this game for over a month, and the last time I walked passed it, I noticed the name and thought it said "Gohan". Me being a DBZ fanatic, I picked it up lol. Me misreading the name was the best thing that could've happened. It's one of the best games I've ever played and also the funniest. It was challenging too cause I never beat it haha

It's even better -if that can be- than when it was when I played it as a kid! :D I've played a lot of video games old, new, you name it, but THIS is a game! Shame the DS title was never released outside of Japan... :/ I just hope Konami will announce something for Wii... just hope...
