The evolving dungeon music really meant a lot back then. It really gave you the feeling you were progressing, delving into this deep unknown place. Good game back then, still a good ass game now.

Yeah I really wish there was a video on youtube where they actually cut it together the way it transitions in the game. The fade out on the track really messes up that flow.

Yeah. When Nier Automata won the game award for best soundtrack, I couldn't help but think that having taken the care to have 7 versions for most every songs to evolve through play was so impressive. It reminded me of those time when I rented this game and ran through a confusing dungeon.

I remember listening to this when I was a kid, on the games menu. I was never able to reach this area of the game, as I didn't understand English back then and couldn't figure out what I had to do after saving the dragon. Now that I can read English, it's so much easier.

As a kid, this level always made me hungry when I played it from seeing all of the food in each room. I encountered an interesting glitch the other day. Me and my friend were playing and we went into the Japan Sea underwater to get the fortune doll. We didn't want to proceed, so returned to the shore (Mutsu), and the game started playing this music anyway! It was weird to hear the submarine castle music in a different area!
