@@vegan-vrking9565 I don't think the price was the problem. They couldn't attract any developers to make some nice games. I can't name 50 PSV games that doesn't feel like a mobile phone port. Also more than 50% of PSV games are JRPGs. Looking back to PSP years we had at least 30 premium games per year. PSV had the potential to be the port for awesome games, but they didn't invest the time and the money. I would like to see another Sony console because, personally, I don't like the graphics and the gameplay of Switch games. I really liked PSP, I am still playing Chinatown Wars from time to time and I really hope Sony to revive the portable console market.

Really interesting video again. I love this series of visiting old online communities and sorta just asking them about their reasons for playing these now unsupported ganes and systems. I think not playing the latest releases of some games hurt your odds of getting into a match. (SSD has a pretty dedicated small fan base which I assume still play and I think EDF had a newer release on Vita I'm forgetting?) Either way, good stuff.

Resistance is dead because it's one of the few games that never removed or made their online pass free, prices for the game are really high, while the content your getting is fairly short, so on top of all that, most people are buying the game used and are unable and unwilling to pay up for the online pass for dead multiplayer. Shame on Sony.

Haven't touched my vita this year but a little near the end of last year the Soul Sacrifice Delta community was still somewhat active. A lot of locked Japanese rooms though. If I can find my vita I'll check it again. SS and SSD were my favorite vita games.

I still play games on my Vita, loved the handheld so much, as I also play PS4 games with it via remote play. Spawnwave mocks the system calling it "Dead Vita", had to stop following him since he's not even a fan of any game platform at all. But after watching Mystic's review about the vita, either to go get the system or not, his video was great that I had to subscribe to his channel. Nice one Mystic 👍

I started playing on my PS Vita again recently. It’s been about a year since I even touched it, and it still works great. To my surprise there are people still playing PS Vita games online, as I got into an online match of KillZone Mercenary pretty fast. I played a lot on my PS Vita when i got it back in 2012, but when the PS4 came out all of my attention on the Vita was gone. However it’s still a great handheld console to this day, and I look forward to playing on it more. It’s a shame that Sony and the game developers failed to support this amazing device. The Vita was a very powerful handheld back in the day, and to this day it still holds up fairly well, easily beating the 3DS (even the new ones) in terms of graphics and frame rate. The disappointment with the Vita is it’s game library. For a picky gamer like myself, I don’t want to waste my money on any indie games that I might not like, and big first/third party games that are good, are rare on the Vita. The game library on the Vita was an absolute fail for a picky/budget gamer like me. Even with all the disappointment in the Vita, I do plan to keep playing on my Vita until the day it dies or when Sony hopefully releases a new handheld because the Vita is still overall great.

I still bring out the vita now and then, I'm more tempted to get rid of the ps4 than the vita. Helldivers often gets some good lobby's, but the added benefit of free online play is quite appealing too. My only gripe is the complete lack of appreciation for it. I loved playing resident evil revelations 2 on the vita, motion aiming made all the difference. If Dino crisis was released in UK ps store I'd be playing it a lot more! And so many other games just missing too! I do find the remote play a little poor however and tend to use my phone for that, but it's a great way to play ur ps4 when you have no access to a tv. Killzone is just amazing, another with motion aiming. But the array of games from shooters to turn based games to beat em ups, racers, fifa, all have this nice feel on the vita thanks to the rear pad front pad gyro. I think a lot of game designers could have had a lot of fun making games around the vitas unique controls.

To be honest, I booted up my Vita for the first time since like, 2013 today. While I didn't go on, I still enjoyed it a lot. I wish Sony didn't abandon it as fast as what they did because it had potential. And honestly, it had an underrated library of games. Are there better options? Sure. But there's something about the Vita that I will always love. That said, I prefer PSP over Vita.

To be honest, the Vita player base is truly one of the most dedicated communities out there. Being a wonderful and comfortable handheld (it has by far the best quality build I’ve seen) and having that little bonus of being an underdog makes it so the few that have one and play on it are really into it.

Vita i havent played in years. Its hardware was easily the best handheld ive seen. But due to a lack of support from sony its software wasnt great. It didnt have an l2 and r2 button. And devs didnt make many games for it. So much potential. But didnt really capatilize on it. Its sad that we wont ever have a portable console ever again. Looks like sony and xbox will stream only. Id enjoy an open source equivalent with client support for games from like xbox or pc or something.

I still play Shinobido 2 on the Vita. It's in the vein of old school Tenchu and I also liked the first game. No other platform carries it so until Ghost of Tsushima comes out, It's my go-to console for stealth kill action.

I still love my vita, there's something that always pulls me back to it, I have a lot of games and a lot still to go through and at this point I don't care to update it because the single player games are amazing. There were things missing that could have made it amazing, for example if they allowed live streaming from it the console would have marketed itself! They did a poor job with the advertising for the thing and just assumed it would do well because of the psp which is always a stupid marketing move and very presumptuous of them. When people say the system is dead they haven't even played it, of course there are no games coming out for it (apart from the odd indie game and my long awaited game Catherine canceled for the west made me not want to update) but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the system. The fucking Nes is dead but people still go on about that as if they didn't grow up, so why not let people just enjoy it if they do? If I haven't played a game before then guess what, it's a new game, even if it's years old. I recommend that anyone who has the chance to buy a vita buys one, it's not just a collectors thing to sit on a shelf, it's an enjoyable handheld, sturdy and reliable. The only thing though.. those memory cards, what the fuck were they thinking? If they had any sense they could have just released a micro sd to memory card adapter after realising that is what was truly crippling the system.
