A different way for ash to lose the league is for him to face Virgil. It could have been awesome to see eevee evolve into sylveon mid battle. If ash never saw a fairy type before, then we could see garachomp fire a draco meteor followed by Dragon claw only to get crushed by moon blast after the smoke clears. The rest of the match could include pikachu vs jolteon, oshawatt vs vaporeon, pigknight vs flareon, and maybe other match ups.
