This Best Team has been in the works for awhile and I'm so excited to final share it with you all! The Best Team for Pokemon Colosseum! It might not be a main series game but it was the first 3D console adventure that we ever had in the Pokemon series and it holds a special place in many peoples hearts, including my own. That said, it was really difficult to create a Best Team for this game as there are a lot of limiting factors in Orre compared to the main series games. Regardless, it was still fun to make and I really hope you all enjoy this one!

I think it would be nice to remake the orre games. A nicer look at the darker games with more Pokémon evolutions would make the old johto mons more useful. Plus, it could be a fun opportunity to add new Pokémon to each remake to promote newer generations. Who knows, I hope they do something with colosseum and XD

Before Game Freak announced they were going to broadcast the first sunrise of 2021, I was suspicious the remake for 2021 would be Colosseum. You know, on account of how it filled out the missing Pokemon from Gen 3 and we're missing quite a few now. Then there was a re-trademarking of Entei, who was more prominent in Colosseum. And the Sinnoh legendaries are in Sword and Shield DLC to boot. But I don't think so anymore. They'll introduce the redesigned Dawn at dawn along with the Sinnoh remake titles. Now I just hope we get some Sinnonian forms, because unless they bring back the Battle Frontier, I don't feel very inclined to buy it otherwise. Or rather, the new Sinnoh Pokedex really needs to wow me, I suppose. Underground needs to be a big wild area with Max Raid Dens, etc.

@@clarkside4493 while I would love to see sinnoh regional variants (new mons would be nice but that might be with something else), the underground and wild areas. I am not entirely too bothered by the battle frontier. The one thing I suggest that needs to be an essential requirement that will greatly effect the game is the Pokédex. They need to use the platinum dex or something similar then the diamond/Pearl dex. It’s obvious why and I will leave it at that

At this point I think it’s too late for a third entry. But there’s so much wasted potential for one. I gotta say, this team has a big weakness, and that is lack of immunity to earthquake. Only medicham will be able to avoid damage from earthquake, and when you are using a quagsire for stab earthquake and teaching meganium earthquake, that is a biiiig problem. I honestly think you need to buy some protect tms, especially for entei. Teach entei protect instead of stomp, since you have hyper beam

I'd say stomp over hyper beam, sure hyper beams powerful but also 90 percent accurate and recharge, it's much more practical for a no recharge move and it can flinch

I love how the game forces you to get creative with your teams. Like using tactics that you never thought you would use. I had a typhlosion with dig and i decided to use dig against my own pokemon. The enemy Pokemon really wanted to use shadow rush against typhlosion but it was underground. And if it landed Shadow rush, it would've fainted from recoil. My noctowl then landed a hypnosis and i was finally able to snag the pokemon. The limited Pokemon/movesets/resources really make you strategize a lot more than the other games.

Umbreon, Espeon, Entei, Raikou, Suicune and Flygon. I had a blast playing with this team. I did the straight 100 Mt. Battle run with this team in the mid 40's level and enjoyed the final battles.

Im surprised you never brought up misdreavus. Being the only ghost type catchable in the game, the AI actually bugs out and will set a priority for normal type moves against her. You get her very early game. And while misdreavus is ghost therefore all stab moves are physical, she does have access to support moves like pain split, perish song, mean look, toxic. Confuse ray, taunt, sunny day, attract. But honestly i can understand why you didnt mention her.

I taught Toxic to Espeon also just a bit of advice when you face Miror B in Realgam Tower his Ludicolo get destroyed if you use Ariados as it has Sludge Bomb.

Very true. I used Toxic stalling with Umbreon and Bayleef as a tanky support doing chip damage. I really didnt know how to use taunt like 15 years ago, so Venus was a bit of a hassle. Didnt lose, just more difficult than necessary.

I always go (except Espeon and Umbreon) for Feraligator, Flygon, Medicham and the last either Altaria or Ampharos. Medicham really saves ass, I never appreciated this Pokemon until I played this game. His Hi Jump Kick + STAB + Pure Power + Black Belt destroys absolutely everything.

Espeon Psychic Ampharos Electric Heracross Bug Fighting Quagsire Water Ground Typlosion Fire Meganium Grass 7th Temporary Umbreon 8th Jumpluff (Dodge alot and help catch Shadow pokemon). 3 of those made it on XD Gale of Darkness Team. Believe me when I tell you that I imagined Jumpluff dodging attacks like a dance. He didn't get hit once and speedy.

My team consisted of Umbreon, Leftovers: Bite, Toxic, Confuse Ray and Secret Power. Espeon, Twistedspoon: Psychic, Reflect, Shadow Ball, Calm Mind. Those two would be my lead start up and would serve as my hindering team, as Umbreon confuses, poisons or paralyzes enemies while Espeon would set up withCalm Mind and Reflect and would then let loose with Psychic or Shadow Ball and Umbreon would go on the attack with bite to cause flinching. Feraligatr, MysticWater: Surf, Ice Beam, Rain dance, Slash. Ampharos, Quick Claw: Thunder, Body Slam, Light Screen, Thunderpunch. My second round should my two starters not finish the job, Pretty self explanatory here, Feraligatr would use Rain Dance and Ampharos would use Light screen to set up, afterwards would follow Thunder and Surf along with the other moves in case of needing to adapt to type affinity. Flygon, Dragon Fang: Dragonbreath, Screech, Crunch, Steel Wing. Heracross, Black Belt: Megahorn, Brick Break, Earthquake, Swords Dance. The final push, and another self explanatory one, using Heracross's insane attack stat coupled with SD and a no penalty Earthquake with a Flygon wittling them down works as my last line of defense.

The game cube was an awesome consol!! Super Mario sunshine, Luigi’s mansion, Smash Bros Melee, Twilight princess, sonic adventure 2 battle (and the eternal time sink that is chao garden) the GameCube was EPIC!! Not N64 epic but still epic.

This was a great team build! Although, I decided to go with ice beam instead of blizzard since it somehow feels stronger on quagsire. I really hope you make a best team video for XD Gale of Darkness as well since it has access to a few wild Pokémon.

It might feel that way because moves that hit both targets in double battles have a damage reduction tied to them, doing 25% less to each target. Ice beam, hitting only one target, hits for 95 base power in Gen 3, while blizzard, being split because of a double battle, only hits for 90 (20% less of 120). The obvious advantage to blizzard is hitting 2 targets, but it also only has 70% accuracy, so the chance to miss is high. I also prefer ice beam for this reason EDIT: the damage reduction is actually 50% in Gen 3, not 25%. So blizzard would do even LESS damage overall

Beat the game with this team the other day, and my experience: It was a challenge. I wanted to make sure my party members had good enough Natures, and for the Shadows, I was lucky to get decent Natures for Meganium, Quagsire, and Medicham. Entei was especially difficult, I had to redo snagging it thrice to end up with a neutral Nature. Once the team was falling into place, then things were rolling. The bosses were tough if I wasn't careful going into them. I also had to constantly worry about missing with moves like High Jump Kick and Fire Blast, because the tide of battle could turn on moments like that. This, I can confirm. Overall, I had plenty of fun going through Colosseum again, even if some parts were nerve-wracking and difficult at first.

Because of how this game is structured, building a team that can cover weaknesses is kind of difficult: Espeon, Croconaw/Feraligatr/Suicune, Skiploom/Jumpluff/Plusle/Raikou, Vibrava/Flygon, Skarmory, Tyranitar are excellent for a hyper offensive team.

My team on my first(probably last)playthrough was umbreon and espeonf for the whole playthrough furret,makuhita and misdreavius for a short time and meganium was removed shortly after them then ampheros,entei and suicune for the whole playthrough and flygon was truly the MVP even though it is obtained late in the game

When I played through this game, I had Umbreon use Confuse Ray and Toxic on one Pokemon while its partner focuses on the other. I'd just leave that Pokemon alone, so the entire battle would basically just be a 2v1.

Im using Meganium and Entei in my current playthrough. I like setting up Sunny Day so they both benefit, Meg with instant Solar Beam and Entei with boosted Flamethrower. Also got the backup pair in Suicune and Raikou.

The best part about this game is the fact that the majority of the catchable mons in this game are straight up awful. I enjoyed running through the game multiple times with mons I would never use in another playthrough. This was definitely my favorite game as a kid.

I really liked doing playthroughs on d.d and colosseum only using pokemon based on gen 3 smogon tiers. Xd nu was so much fun so many choices

Seeing has how Colosseum doesn't have a catchable grass legendary, Bayleef is the obvious choice for the three starters. However, I feel that you should have included a Pokemon ideal for helping w/ the capturing of Shadow Pokemon. Someone who can paralyze/induce sleep to prevent self-KOs via Shadow Rush, can tank damage, etc.

I replayed this game recently with a team of umbreon, espeon, a ampheros for paralysing shadow Pokemon which is a must have cos they know themselves out with recoil! Then feraligatr to spam surf which doesn’t affect your team mate in gen 3, flygon to spam earthquake and mismagius to avoid the EQ plus almost everything in this game has a normal move which the ai loves to target mismagius with for some reason and that team crushed the game and I was able to catch every shadow mon thanks to ampheros

Everybody says it’s not a main series game, but it might as well be. It’s got full connectivity to the Hoenn games and Kanto remakes so I count it together with them. Of course I also count the Let’s Go games so there’s that ;)

Espeon: Psychic Reflect Light Screen Protect/ Morning Sun Tanky with dual screens and can still one-shot with Psychic (or Psychic plus partner Pokémon’s attack) I agree with umbreon (but I prefer faint attack because of the amounts of double teams). Altaria with steel wing tm is actually really good. I’d argue she can replace Entei. Type coverage, dodging with Fly, dragon dance, and tanky in general. Ampharos just for the ability to take a hit to paralyze or thunder wave. I went typhosion and when it wasn’t getting hit with Earthquake, he was pretty solid. I had Sunny Day to harass Pokémon who tried setting up weather for strategies. I also found that moves like Fly and Dig were interesting since, if you have umbreon out as well, enemy team will double up on the other Pokémon who’s be using dig (like Typhlosion) or fly (altaria) and both of those Pokémon have speed to dodge both of those moves. Protect on Espeon can be used in a similar way: both Pokémon will target him and allow you to freely switch in another Pokémon you might need.

There is a remake of these game. Someone made a mod - Physical/Special split - Updated moves till gen 7/8 - Fairy Type - New Shadow Pokemon - Better texture and graphics
