The palace was not well maintained when I visited. All the antiques were covered in dust! And I had to remove my shoes & walk barefoot in the hot sun outside. I get 😡 thinking about it even today! Is it a palace or a temple? Why should I take off my shoes? There are much better monuments in India. Avoid this palace.

Mysore Palace is one of the most popular palaces among tourists in India. I visited the palace many times and It so beautiful and I always wanted to visit it again. You can imagine the opulent lifestyle the kings and queens lived in those times . Mysore Royal family is still one of the wealthiest Royal families in India.

Wishing you both the best 💐 definitely one my favourite travel channel for me now. As a native of Mysore i thoroughly enjoyed watching the routes you took to travel to Mysore and navigating through the chaos and the scenic bits was delightful and scary equally. The time you are visiting India and these vlogs will surely give us a glimpse as India transforms into something bigger and better hopefully as we go into our future. I am sure your vlogs will certainly be one of my favourites to go back to and say ahhh... The times when things were like that. Many thanks for sharing your travel experiences 💐 stay safe! Hello, the door you were talking about is made of rosewood and the carvings in it are made from elephant tusks called Ivory and it was awarded the most beautiful door in the world they removed it and took for display in museums of other countries and later reinstalled it. There is a Ambhari made of 780kg of pure gold and precious stones which will be in display on November month when the state festival Navratri (Vijay Dashami) is celebrated. There are four stone lion statues two are inside the palace and two are outside very beautiful. 1000rs fee is too much it discourages people to visit. In the beginning the palace was made of wood it got distroyed in fire later this palace was built. If you took some guide he would have explained you in detail, there are paintings of Raja Ravi Varma in the palace they are unique 3D views only the people who know can see them hence guide was required. Have a wonderful journey ahead ❤
@SeanandEmily17 сағат бұрын
Yeah those doors are very impressive! Obviously we don’t support the use of Ivory today but can appreciate the workmanship of the tradesman 😊. Guides can be great for the information but sometimes it’s nice to explore by yourself 👍🏻 Thanks for the info, fascinating place 🙏🏻

Did you never notice two elephant heads are real. in front of the big door?
@SeanandEmily16 сағат бұрын
No we didn’t ….probably better we didn’t see them 😉
@royalriderspala13 сағат бұрын
@ The two stuffed elephant heads at the Mysore Palace in India are said to be the heads of elephants that were killed by the king after going on a rampage. The heads are preserved using taxidermy, the art of stuffing and mounting animal skins to make them look lifelike.

That palace has two thrones that were made of pure gold. One of them has 265kg gold but not sure if our politicians took gold and replaced it with copper or gold coated sheets 😛 due to their greed and because this is india. 😅

Rs1000 for foreigners is a rip off. Europe or America don't charge separate rate for foreigners to visit their Museums.
@martin9699123 сағат бұрын
Because per capita is more. 10 euros is not much for foreigners, plus it's the quantity as most visitors are locals compared to foreigners.
@psn369422 сағат бұрын
Well it's all adjusted according to currency exchange
@SeanandEmily16 сағат бұрын
It’s true we don’t charge different rates however we think It’s a good thing if it keeps places like this accessible to locals
@VibhorWase22 сағат бұрын
What's with the discriminatory pricing for the tickets? 🤔. That sucks!
@SeanandEmily16 сағат бұрын
Guess it keeps it accessible to locals 😊

1000 for foreigner is injustice
@SeanandEmily17 сағат бұрын
Yeah it was a bit expensive but I get that it should be accessible to locals.
@johndonohoe676418 сағат бұрын
120 for a local, 1000 for a foreigner.... is that Indian humour?
@SeanandEmily17 сағат бұрын
We get it so locals can afford to visit although it’s funny as we didn’t really see that many other foreigners.
@Middle_boy34523 сағат бұрын
As indians we should demand government to same the price for foreigners as locals
@Creatorsatyavlogs1422 сағат бұрын
Why if you go any tourist places any whare in the world they will charge you like this it's not only in india it's everywhere in the world
@trinitybricks952222 сағат бұрын
Is it Indian federal govt, or local/state govt that fixes those prices?
@SeanandEmily16 сағат бұрын
I think it’s only fair to allow these places to be accessible to everyone, personally we don’t mind paying more.
@SeanandEmily16 сағат бұрын
We have never seen a price system for locals and foreigners before

The no shoe requirement ruined my experience! It was a hot day & I had to walk barefoot outside in the hot sun to retrieve my shoes. The palace was not well maintained either. It was dusty. Stay away from this palace.
@BeaJai-xl5he14 сағат бұрын
It’s a palace, not a temple for Gods sake. The most annoying place in Mysore! They should provide shoe covers or give us an option to buy shoe covers.
@SeanandEmily7 сағат бұрын
All of the shoes are kept in a covered area, you walk on shaded ground. Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the palace as it's rather impressive.
@BeaJai-xl5he4 сағат бұрын
@@SeanandEmily When I visited there was no shade. Either way, they need to provide shoe cover. Their employees wear shoes. That will bring in dirt, right? I am walking barefoot on that dirt. In a temple, no one wears shoes.
