You forgot to mention the Thunga river. Bhadra&Thunga confluences near shimoga, then it becomes Thungabhadra river. Shimoga &Bhadravathi are twin towns like Hydra&Secendrabad. Shimoga is an industrial town known for quality cast iron castings like our coimbatore. One of the biggest manufacturing hub for auto cylinder liners. These region called as Malnad. Aurecanut tree plantations are one of major agriculture activity.

This route is always very scenic and beautiful......good that you chose this train to capture the beauty of nature right from Mysuru to Talaguppa. The English spelling and hence the google pronunciation of Hassan is kinda weird.....the city is called Haasan or better still.....Haasana.....just like Bangalore is Bengaluru now. Jog falls is not pronounced as in jogging.....it is Jog......maybe I could have written the correct pronunciation in Tamil.....but I dont know to type Tamil fonts coz I dont know to write Tamil....so the closest that I can probably suggest is Joeg.

I'm a great fan of EMD locomotives. I love traveling by the train being linked with EMD locomotives over the beautiful scenic blank diesel route. I wish that there will be a train to connect to Chennai Egmore via Guntakal, Kadappa and Renigunta either from Talguppa or Shivamogga town while Shivamogga town Chennai Central express runs via Bengaluru, Krishnarajapuram, Bangarapet, Jolarpettai, Katpadi and Arakkonam junctions.
