Westmoreland glass has a special place in my heart. When I was 10, I got very Ill and nearly died. My classmates pooled their money and bought me the Westmoreland, blue satin owl, with the beautiful crystal eyes.💞 My grandparents gave me the sweetest Lefton vase with tiny hand made, pink flowers. 💮Those two gifts started 60 years of collecting beautiful things. Today's video brought back a flood of amazing childhood memories. I truly appreciate, and understand how special that first little bulldog was to you. 💓✨💞 Thanks for sharing your memories with us. Jeff and Angela, Thank you again for the relaxing and enjoyable half hour. We have the possibility of ice coming and 1.5 feet of snow after that in the next two days so the relaxing happy time is well appreciated. Hope we have power to see your next couple of shows. The glass was magnificent as is to be expected and enjoyed seeing your collection. Those bulldogs, those bulldogs; a very special piece. Have never seen so many in one place before, and you know what, I think I like them better without the separate glass eyes. I’m sure to be in the minority. The two doves (?) bowl is a favorite of mine, always reminds me of me and Susan, not trying to be fanciful, but perhaps it strikes you in a similar fashion. We have lived in PA, WV and Ohio so the glass and ceramics from that area are special to us. When in PA, we lived just 15 miles from Jeannette where Westmoreland Glass originally was. You’d think the thrift and antique shops in the area would be chock full of the stuff, but nary a piece was readily found. Still your show brought back many memories. As most others have said, the story about your first bulldog figurine was special. I believe you said you bought it for your Mom as a kid, and what a special present that must have been. In a box of stuff you say? I remember those days🙂. Painted black, wonder what was the story behind that. Thank you again for sharing such a happy interlude in such an otherwise stressful world.. You often (or at least recently) say “ Don’t be Afraid to be Happy”. Sounds like the basis for a tee shirt. No royalties required for the idea LOL! I’d buy it!

The dogs are adorable. The cobalt blue and white bulldog is my favorite. Oh I like the aqua blue and the clear blue is another favorite. I did like the WM collection. Another favorite is the ducks over the water. It’s amazing how some of these first roosters you had were close to 70 years old. They had really been taken care of. I sometimes wonder how precious the items were to the previous owners. I went to habitat a couple of weeks ago and I could tell someone’s very precious items had been taken down to Habitat. It sadden me to see anniversary pieces that said happy 50 anniversary and a happy 40 anniversary. Also pieces that had special Grandma on them. There was also some large oriental vases there as well. I thought of you. They were only 15 dollars. Oh well enough about that except I knew someone’s home had been cleaned out.. Well I loved the sentimental story of you and your Mom. It’s amazing how 1 thing in our life can influence the things we like and enjoy for the rest of our life. Love the bulldog stories. Late getting on today. It has been one busy day. Take care and have a great week. I have 1 more tree to take down in the sunroom. It supposed to be warm this week so I hope to finish un decorating for Christmas. I know what you mean about someone things....I went to an estate sale once it was loaded and made me so sad ...it looked like our house ....I left their wanting nothing ! .....they usually don't bother me like that.....this one was just waiting for the owner to come home ! We understand of coarse that things get passed on....this one was tough !!! Only two more trees to take down ! I motor along and get things done everyday ...and enjoy to the fullest.. Woof woof, arf arf! Buddy wants to adopt all your glass pups. He is lonely. Buddy is a large chalkware black and white English bulldog from the 40s. He was Jaymans when he was a wee boy. He sits by the fireplace guarding the homefires. His pose is exactly the same as your glass pups. Your mom was so special as was mine. And I can tell the love you had for each other as did I. Your hens on nest and ducks on water were also lovely. Who knows you may have the one you saw on Ozzie and Harriet show! Fun video! ❤😙😗🐔🐓

I love your collection, and I love your reminiscing! My mom collected the hens also and I just don’t know what happened to them. She did give me what we called the chickie cup which as children we ate our soft boiled eggs from. I have to check to see if they are Westmorland. I am hoping you could tell me where I might find eyeballs. I was washing a beautiful bunny and the eye fell out and down the drain it went. Thanks for sharing your collection.I can imagine the bulldogs are getting hard to find. French bulldogs are a popular breed with the young folks and many of the "Zoomers" like to decorate with bright colors and cute things. This little guy would tick all the boxes. Look up vintage rainbow shelf design or decor and you'll get all kinds of hits on pinterest or instagram. Vintage books, knickknacks, tins all arranged by colors. It's really cute.

I love seeing your collections. I generally watch youtube on my big tv so I can see the details but cant comment there. I have 2 little glass figures that look like your colored glass animals. One is a bunny and one is a dog. You can see light through the glass. .........but they are about an inch tall. Have you seen these? Would they be westmoreland? They are quite detailed for their size....

TY for the education. I’m not interested in bull dogs. But looked because I did pick up the Rooster candy dish. I’m really trying to identify a pedestal dish I bought awhile ago. Pattern is sort of like daisy and button but it isn’t. You showed something in your other video about milk glass that might be the same pattern and you didn’t know who made it. I always like to learn so I find it fun to be-able to identify my meager collections. And I love chicken and rooster things. Again it goes back to childhood as my mother raised chickens.

Love the French bulldogs, that orange one is on line for up to $200 and the blue and white one is going for $70+ the others are between $25 x 40+. So you have definitely got a good investment there. Love the bird nest dishes as well, we just don’t see those things here in Oz. 👌❤️🐿🍇

Hi Jeff, what a fantastic collection of Westmoreland bulldogs !!! You should be proud. I feel your pain on not having bought the 5 colors you never saw for $100 years ago. I am trying to find a teapot that goes with my late Mom's 1950s wedding china. Saw it once on Ebay years ago for a price I thought was high. Have never seen it again. :( Oh well. Take care Jeff. I really enjoyed today's doggy and chicken vid. :)

Just finished watching your video and had no idea that the little bulldogs were of any value . I bought one of the ruby red bulldogs years ago at a garage sale just because I thought it was cute . I probably paid less than $1 for it .

Starting with the blue and white slag pup and those colors following were made in the years after Westmoreland Glass closed in 1984. The mould was under the control of Rosso wholesale glass and the pieces were poured at Summit Art Glass. Very probable but even as a little kid I remember they were popular ...I believe Winston Churchill had one as well and the football teams had one for a mascotte ! The little rascals TV show ....reruns for us had a bulldog quite famous !
