Gosh. Your trade-in estimates are real stingers. We’ve had 2 2018 M3Ps and recently sold them. Tesla’s trade-in offers were low. One of them with 94,000 miles was offered $16,800. The other with 16,560 miles was offered $19,500. We sold them to Carvana ($18,800) and Carmax ($23,000) respectively. The two were sold to make way for the Tri Motor Cybertruck (Cyberbeast as it came to be known) I had on reservation since 44 hrs after reveal and delivered recently. The other was sold to make way for a much more practical MY AWD (Quicksilver!) where we took advantage of Q4 incentives, the Fed Tax Credit ($7,500) and the 0% interest 60mo loan. Couldn’t pass this up. Free money for 5 years!!!

What appeared to be an anti Tesla turned out to be a solid endorsement of the products from a keep them long term perspective. We also have 2 Tesla's at home. A 2024 refreshed Model 3 DM and a 2018 Model X 100D. We had both leased Tesla's in 2021 (M3, MY) and so were not impacted by price changes or value depreciation for those cars. We purchased my wifes 2024 Model 3 and I bought the Model X from Tesla's used vehicle site. My wifes M3 refresh DM was actually less expensive that her 2021 single motor. The amazing deal was the Model X. It is a 6 seat X with 49K miles in great condition for $39,900. It had EAP which I upgraded to FSD for an additional $2K. That's $43K all in for a vehicle that sold new in 2018 or over $150K. It carries a 1 year full warranty and another two years for the battery and drive motors. I love driving the X and it is by far the best deal I've ever had on a vehicle in my long life of vehicle ownership. I feel for the individual who paid what with all the options was actually closer to $160K (6 seat, upgraded wheels, EAP) and lost over $100K in the trade-in to Tesla. Most non-Tesla people who have been in my X have thought it was a new car. It is certainly a lot of car for what I paid and like you, my battery is in that 93% capacity or 275 miles of range.

Americans suffer from two syndrome: FOMO: Fear Of Missing Out GAS: Gear Acquisition Syndrome Both of these are huge factors that drive the “need” many have to buy the latest of whatever. I’m fortunate that I don’t have either of these (to an unmanageable degree). Sure, the new and shiny is always attractive. But I can resist. My ultimate question is this: Is there anything I need to do that I cannot do with what I have? My ‘21 M3 SR+ works great. It just crossed 50k miles, so no more warranty on the car (battery and power train still have many miles to go). But I’ve been on many 1,000 mile trips (including a 5,500 mile r/t to Louisville), and the car has reliably, capably, and comfortably made each of those trips! Plus it is absolutely amazing as a daily driver around town. The s/w updates, as you mentioned, constantly refresh my car, making it feel new and up-to-date, and the tech of the Tesla world make me feel like my car is not a 2nd thought of the OEM. This is who they are and what they do. Full stop. My feeling is that, if/when this car needs a new battery, I’m definitely going to buy a new battery instead of a new car. I’m hoping by then, Tesla would simply let me keep the old battery to use as a power wall. But yeah I’m not really tempted to get the latest and greatest - I already have it!

It now shows at 100% charge 254-256. I think the real world range is about 240. Of course depends on outside temperature and speed. Tesla warranty the batteries to maintain 70% of range for 8 years and 100k miles. depending on model this warranty has different parameters. If your range drops much more, you could qualify for a battery replacement.

Henry Ford was an anti-semite. Marry Barra of General Motors lied about having dozens of EVs years ago. Carlos Ghosn of Nissan is a criminal and fugitive who was smuggled out of Japan in an instrument box. Volkswagen CEOs lied, cheated and polluted the Earth. Remember 'Diesel Gate'? Toyota has recently been investigated for cheating on emissions programming on industrial engines in the USA. There are more examples of bad, dishonest, lying and cheating CEOs. Company CEOs aren't angels. Most homes in the USA are filled with items from China. Do U support a repressive, communist Country run by a dictator by purchasing items from China?

Here are the real reasons not to buy a Tesla: 1. Everything creaks and rattles when driving. Quality is subpar 2. The car is glued together. It doesn't fell stable like other cars 3. It's not refined like other similarly priced cars 4. Maintenance/repair costs are realized on the backend when battery needs replacing 5. Interior material is cheap akin to a Kia Rio 6. Range vs number of charging station make no since 7. The battery can't take low outside temps or high outside temps 8. Needs constant charging for any real world use 9. Too many bugs in software that require frequent updates 10. MSRP for Model S should be $30,000 not $80,000 I sold my Tesla and bought a Toyota 4Runner and bought my wife a Lexus GX. Both can withstand extreme conditions, has high quality parts, very rugged and extremely reliable. Both vehicles are built like tanks and can take extreme abuse with ease. Teslas will fall apart if treated with any abuse. Stay away from Teslas if you value refinement, durability, reliability, safety, and comfort. Just buy a Toyota or Lexus.

@@lukeav6097 I've driven Toyota and Tesla and prefer Tesla by far. Currently have 2x Toyota's. Even though Tesla costs more will end up cheaper over time due to fuel costs. As you had a Model S maybe that was a while ago and things have changed? In Australia we get Chinese built Tesla's, and they are very good quality, panel gaps are even etc.

@@trythis2821 Teslas are toy cars compared to real cars. The fuel, maintenance, and repair costs are priced upfront for Teslas. Teslas will fall apart for any extreme use. Not worth $80,000 maybe $25,000

@@lukeav6097 Everyone's experience is different, I've driven Y and 3 Tesla's at work and none of them felt like they are going to fall apart. Quite the opposite, build quality is good. If you look up video's you will see people getting 300K miles without much going wrong. Base RWD Model Y for me in Australia with tax concession novated lease will cost $40,000 AUD out of pocket (after effective tax concessions) so that makes it a better proposition. I agree original pricing was very high, when I test drove US made Model S (can't get them in Australia anymore) sales lady told me will not like going back to old Toyota. As I drove home felt fine as car is paid off.

Spare Tire........????
@ezpoppy55Күн бұрын
@@manuelwilson9214 Not a Tesla-only issue. From Consumer Reports: “…about 40 percent of new cars today don’t come with a spare tire…” based on their test drive vehicles. The majority (50%) of new cars come without a full-sized spare, with only 10% having those. I bought a Modern Spare for my M3. Over 3.5 years, and 50k miles, I have yet to use it. And yet cars from the last few years don't have all those classic Atari games. No passenger lumbar bladder. No ultra sonic sensors, which worked great especially with Summon for parking in tight spots. This new Dumb Summon just doesn't work for tight garage parking. And now we lose the ad free music they we have been paying for with Premium Connectivity. Feels like we are paying more for less. And the cabin camera monitoring is too sensitive, I got dinged twice during a 4 hour drive at night. Had to pull over to reset it after the first ding. I got dinged for trying to see my route on the display once and another time trying to show the Superchargers in the area on the display. It's ridiculous that after so many dings FSD then won't work for like a week, even though we paid for it! And even the lane assist function shuts off for a drive if it gives too many warnings, which makes no sense. That removes driver safety. Your link to the pen doesn't work right and what is shown is only a 15% discount, not 20%. And it's not true that Tesla's depreciate in value like crazy. Elon said Tesla's with FSD will be appreciating in value. Guess that was just more lies from him. lol You said you don't need more range and your reasoning is because there are more charging stations now. You do realize that for those of us that have to pay for charging, less range means it costs us more money.
