I bought a shackles beam from someone and I thought I got took I am so glad you demonstrated the car under load now Im going to put it on the car before paint. Thanks

Thanks for the comment. Don't assume what you got it as demonstrated. Some people can build them incorrectly and can not be judged the same as professionals who care about how it works. Keep that in mind.

@@AirkewldVWs I’m fully aware of that, sir. The one I have is not quite as nice as yours but now I know how shock less function.

Narrowed beam doesnt it hamper your turning circle? How does it stand up too road usage
@AirkewldVWs4 жыл бұрын
Not always Pierre. Width of wheel, track added by other parts, lots of determining factors but we do the math to get the most out of each configuration. Road usage is where it excels in the cruising dept. Thanks for commenting as usual!

Would like too get a 2inch narrowed beam. The import duties and taxes are insane.

6" narrowed beam not suitable for for HP cars, so would the 4" beam be okay? TIA

Correct.

Would be interested to know what wheel/tire size you had when measuring the tuck. In that setup with (im assuming) the Bad Brakes, does it rub at full lock?
@AirkewldVWs4 жыл бұрын
Loaded with three people it rubs, but alone it does not. 205-40’s with 17x 6.5’s with drop spindles and bad Brakes

How dose the ride compare to the narrowed beam with shocks
@AirkewldVWs3 жыл бұрын
Smoother but not the same handling capabilities.

Hello, I have a 67 bug with a 4” beam I tried putting on 145/15 tires but the right tire rubs the right bucket light any suggestions? I have now 145/65/15 has a good clearance but the beam it’s only 2 inches from the ground I tried raising the beam 2” now there’s a 2 inch gap height between the tire and fender. I don’t know if 135 or even 125 would work, do you have any advise for me? Thank you
@AirkewldVWs2 жыл бұрын
Do you have drop spindles on the car?
@nikittoo12 жыл бұрын
Yes it was dropped 2 inches
@AirkewldVWs2 жыл бұрын
@@nikittoo1 There is no such thing as a 2" drop spindle, they are all 2.50". If you have those on the vehicle, you need to shrink the sidewall profile.

Been running a 5" narrowed shockless beam on my daily for 11 years. Narrowed the springs slightly more then the beam to get a friction dampened rebound from the bushings. Still rides great after 150k miles.

One of the vw shops where saying the shockless beams the tortion bars can break without the shocks is that true
@AirkewldVWs2 жыл бұрын
I can tell you with great confidence that anything that is abused can break. That is why we talk about defining the kind of vehicle you are building and what beam set up makes the most sense to achieve that goal and be safe. Having a cruiser set up, small motor application, you should never have an issue, atleast with our set up.
