All right, this seems like an interesting new game to check out. It is nice that it has a Wiki. The Action Point economy detail can feel a bit weird, but I guess it is all about getting used to it (note to self: hack for Fallout… on that end, does the mechanics have an ORC, OGL or CC license?) The Lineages have a pretty big selection. That is nice, actually.

Thanks for the review. Sounds like it’s not for me, but I always like hearing about new or interesting games

I would much rather my rules and world building be in separate books. The rules I might need to carry with me and reference. The lore can stay on my shelf.

Great review! 😊 Just a heads up: at 2:03 there's a "Missing Plug-in" screen.

Oh no! Must have had an error in the export. It was a screenshot of the Ancerra wiki page srd.mythcraftrpg.com/Exploring_Ancerra

Thanks for this. From your description, I'm not seeing this as a game that would be more appealing than Pathfinder to me. I like the extra lineages, but those are relatively easy to homebrew. I like the AP flexibility, but as DM, I'm concerned about trying to keep track of multiple NPCs. I like collecting new games, but I think I'll spend my money elsewhere.

The NPCs and creatures don't use the AP system actually. That is only for player characters, unless you want to create an intricate NPC that follows a player build of course.

I wonder if they were aiming for brùnaidh, AKA brownie?

Maybe... again, not sure on the reasoning for changing the spelling
