After playing with the deck a little bit I do like it, but i'm curious to our opinion on a couple modifications. 1 - remove Hopeful Initiates for Traveling minister - I rarely get to use the +1/+1 gain as attacking with initiate when he doesn't have flying would just kill him outright even with the +1/+1 in a lot of cases. scenarios where I can build him up some I've either already won, or using steel seraph to give him flying. 2 - Drop archangel of wrath and Giada, forest of hope both down to 3. and add in 2 Sera Paragons (or even just 1 and something else). When casting Archangel I'm often wanting it just as much if not more for it's kicker than it's body alone. sera paragon would do more as a 4 drop with how much removal exists at the moment. And a great way to give staying power to the deck by letting you bring voice back after it gets sniped turn 3, repeatedly at that. Where Archangel i like more as a 5 or 6 drop than 4, although I have won with just it and a pair of kayla's commands alone. Sara paragon would do the same thing. Main downside is that Sara can't bring back your entire graveyard like some others, you're limited to the 1-3 drops. So at most 2 in the deck me thinks? Gaida feels like 3 is enough as a legendary? It's an amazing 2 drop, but being legendary their have been times where it was just dead in my hand as the other was in play. But it does make Steel Seraph brutal. I even considered something like recommission, a 4th Kayla's command, adding in a little bit of removal. But not sure where I'd put it. If anywhere it'd replace the wandering emperor. but I haven't been able to play him so idk how valuable he is. Often the game is decided by the time I get to play him, or too far gone for him to recover it. haven't had many balanced turn 4's. The cards that save me the most in a bad position is steel seraph or kayla's command so far. voice of the Blessed can win games outright, but most the time it's forcing their removal for steel seraph and kayla's command to win it.

we have actually tested everything you've mentioned here in previous versions (we talk about it at the end of the video) All permeations had a much lower success rate for myself personally. Thank you for sharing still! all great ideas, i just had better luck this way eh

​@@HelloGoodGame fair enough. the only card in the deck I haven't really used to much value is the plainswalker (it did win me one game, but a +1 first strike instant would've done the same), and the one drop with training. the others all do pretty well. . I have done 4-5 games with the newer variant. haven't pulled sara yet, and you're probably right in not using it. If anything it'd be a good sideboard. The traveling minister did win me 2 games though just off of the +1 being given to a flyer every turn, healing didn't even matter as much. especially when you can double strike lifelink it. I also won one game vs azorious soldiers by removing their flyers and just outpacing it with flyers and lifelink. However, if they have the right opening hand it can be brutal. I can probably agree with the limited removal though. since a lot of the meta are swarm weenies (azorious, mono black agro, rdw, etc.), and a fair bit of revival/haste where single target removal is pretty much wasted. you'd get outpaced rapidly. At least that's what I've seen with it so far. Theirs not a lot of slower decks. if i was facing more mid-range decks I'd probably like more hard removal like fateful absence. But if grixis midrange and other white midranges aren't as common as the faster decks, it'd cost you a lot more than you'd gain in best of 1's. but likely very different for bo3's. I'll figure out what is and isn't a common deck to face over time. for now I already eat most slow decks, so it's the fast decks that are the concern. and removal isn't a benefit. Still a limited sample size though.

If you want to hit the 4th land every game, I think, you need 25 lands. Or you can go with 23 lands and 3x Ambitious Farmhand and 2x Hopefull Initiate.

The Archangel being so good it's worth muddying the mana base is probably the wildest thing about this deck. Played a bunch of your last white life gain deck & really enjoyed it.

having a ton of life loss is almost irrelevant in this aggro deck, but with the painlands you can use it as a ressource so the drawback is pretty low. the life gain trigger is the important part of the deck not gain x life.

37:00 No lands for 5 turns. Common things for me. The reverse is also painful. When you have no card left and you only draw lands. To be rank 1 you need luke.

You should try an arena qualifier and live stream it, I would think that would attract more viewers since it's like a tournament. I know when they stream tournaments for like cod they get big viewer numbers. Just a thought I know I'd watch it. Anyway, I can't believe how the mechanics in the game itself have changed since I was young. Back then a normal 3/3 creature was big stuff lol. I had to learn so much over haha. Synergy with Kayla's Command is perfect! Recommend replacing lifegain lands instead of painlands.

after playing it some I doubt those would work here. At best the come into play tapped if you own 2 or less lands would work. The deck itself plays at a pretty low mana base of 1-4 at most times and you drop your hand out fairly early. Having so many lands come into play tapped by default would cause a lot of problems. you also aren't relying on Voice of the blessed to win the game, it is a win con but far from the only one. you'd lose way too much by having the come into play tapped. If there were more mechanics for +1/+1's or something else for the life gain maybe, but not with just voice. The pain lands aren't even a problem, since most the time you use them as colorless. when you use them for kickers you lifelink it right back. Only other time you'd pain with them is the first say 3 turns or so if you have mostly pain lands and few plains.

Mainly he was the only one in mythic at that exact time, first to get there granting the number 1 spot, also #2-5 which is the most I think there could be grinding 15+hrs, could’ve already been paired up so it gave him the closest one to his win ratio.

It's important to still curve out. Voice on turn 2 stuff. Slow mana not worth it in a aggro deck. Our lifegain overrides any pain land losses.

Anything that can exile cards in their graveyard. Graveyard-Trespasser /-Glutton, Deathbonnet Sprout/-Hulk, Farewell etc. or try to counterspell their resurrection spells.

Mardu Angels is my current favorite standard deck to play, and I recently went on a complete tear with it going 17 - 9 at diamond rank. There are stronger decks out there but I really love how the deck has outs against just about any opposing deck. This white deck seems quite similar, but more combo oriented (everything looks centered around buffing the Voice of the Blessed).

@@crewd00d Yea, I just started Arena like 3 weeks ago, so I don't have have too many cards yet. I built Red Burn for standard since that's the deck I used to play competitively ~11 years ago in legacy. The decks on arena are very different since they use way more creatures (and because I don't have Lightning Bolt 😭). But I know the core strategy is very simple, and will let me ease back into the game and relearn the advanced strategies

This deck gets absolutely destroyed by removal. Removal takes out your key pieces and you can't get your combo started.

You can tweak it for heavy removal. Recommision, Serra Paragon, and Extraction Specialist. Exile will still get you though, so adding extra draw through wedding announcements and Sigarda's Splendor can overrun removal too. I use Ajani for that purpose too. Then you can replace the Hopeful Initiate with Ollenbock Escort. This keeps you in the game against heavy removal on the play. Grixis is so strong though if they're on the play they can still outpace your perfect hand with there's. But if they give you just one turn it shifts.

@@HelloGoodGame I’m not sure what your reply means. I have been a subscriber to your channel for a long time. I watch all of your videos, and I’m genuinely happy for you. However, I have spent quite a bit of time playing at the mythic level and I have never played anyone not at that level. (In fact, I have played you 3 times at that level.) It’s just something I have never seen. It does happen at the lower levels, for sure.

@@candyfactory411 cri, during the beginning of the month few people have made it through platinum and diamond. These ranks require you to have a very good MMR to progress through them as if you loose you go backwards. With this said, anyone who is progressing through ranked early on in the season will have similar MMR and therefor be matched against eachother. Rank is just a byproduct of this. So a player in p1 2 days into the season on a 6 game streak will have an mmr maybe even better than a mythic player who is win one loose one. The fact of the matter is the season is early, not many people have made it yet, then they still need to be online to match. The game will always match you to the closest mmr regardless of rank. This shouldn't take away from anyone's accomplishments however as they are still being matches against the best possible players due to mmr.
