Couple things, I get the idea behind Exeggucte now, thank you! Second I saw a few people annoyed I used a tcg ex Celebi because we didn’t have the card image yet. I was using this because Celebi is coming and was going to talk about it. I get being a bit annoyed but it’s true it’s coming so I used it. I’ll try and find a better system next thumb. ✌🏼✌🏼🤠🤠

Something to note about Mew EX is that Charizard and Mewtwo both specifically say to discard their respective element for the attack used but Mew potentially won't have any to discard if it's not using that energy type. Makes me think it wouldn't discard any at all.

So far, only Raichu is specific in discarding all energy from itself to use it's attack, but just about everyone else (Charmander, Ninetails, Charizard, Mewtwo, Centiskorch, Flareon) it is a specific energy type. And the ability isn't like Ditto where it requires you to have the correct energy, so I'm assuming its a counter specifically for Mewtwo, which also makes sense in lore.

We already know how Mew will work because this card is in TCG Live. It does not need the same type of energy as Charizard to use Crimson Storm. It will still do the attack and just skip the energy discard part. So yes, Mew is OP

Mew EX is crazy good. It does not require the proper energy. Ditto specifies that it does where Mew does not. Ditto is a failed clone of Mew so the flavor behind the mechanic is chef's kiss.

The thought with Exeggcute, aside from potentially Alolan Exeggcutor, is that you can run Exeggcutor EX in any deck since Exeggcute can auto attach a free grass energy with any energy type. Functionally this makes Exeggcutor EX a colorless 1 energy instead of a grass 1 energy.

The only issue with this is you don't want to keep Pokemon base if they have an evolved forms. Same with Pokemon like Caterpie and Nidoran. You risk having the opponent KO them second turn, especially if they went second.

Everyone has already mentioned how Exeggcute can now work in non-grass decks, but also if you're running mono grass then this version can help out some with Exeggutor's hefty retreat cost, especially if you're going second which Eggs actually doesn't usually want. Basically the trade for going second and evolving later is you have more of a safety net for retreating

Exeggcute's attack is almost definitely for a new Exeggutor with a "Big Eggsplosion" attack. This has been a trend in the normal TCG and for those wondering the attack is essentially: Flip coins equal to the number energy attached to Exeggutor, for each heads to X Damage.

I can see Vaporeon be a good Sabrina counter, especially if you run two Articuno EX and Omastar. You can easily deny them from stalling for more energy because you can just transfer the energy from Sabrina'ed Articuno to a new Articuno who has no energies.

With regards to Mew EX discarding energy when copying attacks, something like Charizard discards two *fire* energy for its attack, so if you are powering Mew with psychic then it shouldn't discard those allowing you to attack again next turn without needing to recharge. Mewtwo does use psychic though so will discard the 2 energy unless for some reason you were not powering Mew with psychic (which may be a viable strat).

What's kind of fun to me is that this is different from any card game reveal season I've previously seen. Since we already have a paper mew ex with genome hacking - we know exactly how good that attack is and how it functions both rules wise and in a meta game sense. My genuine opinion is that this vaporeon makes water decks the best in the meta. It’s going to have such an easy time switching different things in and out. Need blastoise ex to come in and get a ko, but it only survives one hit? No problem, after it takes that hit he can retreat it and give all the remaining energy to whatever you sent in even if it’s a 3 or higher energy card.

Genome Hacking is fun in the normal game, does not require the same energy like Ditto. Just 3 whatever for the Mew to use it, and it's plural because some active mons have multiple attacks. The reason its worded as choose 1 of the opponent's Active Pokemon attacks because like most EX cards they have 2 attacks listed, unlike ditto when its choose anywhere but must have correct energy type. Aerodactyl is gunna be meta to stall decks since it only needs to be in the bench.

Mew is going to be a huge deterrent of heavy hitter decks, Mew will really help stall and defence style decks that right now crumble to heavy hitters like Mewtwo and Charizard. Mew is one hundred percent going to be a staple in this next meta. Pikachu Ex is fine, but Zapdos is not, a lot of decks will be forced to slow down and play around Mew. The new Aerodactyl Ex is going to give control decks another layer and being a fossil will give decks that use it better consistency. Water decks are going to get really scary though, Misty with the new Vaporeon will launch Blastoise EX into viability, Lapras EX easier to invest in, and Starmie gets even more stupid with it’s no cost retreat. As we get more passive abilities like Aerodactyl and Vaporeon, bench sitters just for their abilities are going to make multi colour decks less risky, who cares if they can’t attack, look at that ability. Put them as a wall, put energy on them just to retreat, Leaf will help with that, let them sit on the bench and reap the rewards of the passive abilities. All in all, I am excited for the meta to be shook and deck building to get more diverse and intuitive. Let’s go creativity! Deck building is my favourite part of TCGs. I’m glad to see we are not getting just a whole bunch of coin flips. Let’s go consistency!! ❤😎

How Mew ex works I can tell as a card games player: It only copies the opponent's active means, for example there's an Articuno ex on the active, Mew can choose to do the 1st attack that does 40 and require 2 energies or the 2nd that does 80 and requires 3 energies for 3 of any energy color. This kind of copy the active pokemon's have never been good in Pokemon TCG, it will likely be just a meme.

I'm speculating that we're gonna get an Alolan Exeggutor as another Dragon type, that uses grass as one of it's energies. But even if we don't, that exeggcute makes it so now you can do mixed energy deck with Exeggutor EX

New Pika is 1 Lightning energy, 10x damage for every lightning benched pokemon. Also, on the image that shows the new Solo Battle missions, you can see the bottom of the challenge above Mew/Mewtwo with a yellowish color. Might be a Lightning or Dragon EX for our last EX. (Mew, Areo, Celebi, Pidgeot being the other 4)

Why do no youtubers understand what they were going for in regards to the new eggsucute? Its clearly meant to help put current eggecutor into non grass decks bevause you dont need to be running grass energy in your deck to give it the one grass it needs. I run an metal deck with greninja rn and i can still pull water “from my energy zone” with a misty even though im only running metal energy

The hard thing about new exeggcute... If you go 1st and you have new exeggcute on the active spot and you have exeggutor ex in your hand... You must attack the new exeggcute before you evolve it into an exeggutor ex... It will waste another turn to evolve or may be exeggcute will die immediately after that turn exeggcute attacks... I think that's the problem every youtuber notice.. just like mankey promo it is good if you take 2nd turn and not good if you are 1st...

Because they understand the game better than you, and are using their brains more than you. The basic form has to attack and survive a turn on the board, which just isn't going to happen after the first few turns, so it would be a terrible, unreliable way to use exeggcutor.

The reason Mew's Genome Hacking is worded that way is because the opposing Active Pokemon can have more than one attack to choose from.

The ' denotes possession in this case. There are many cats. The cat's tail is furry. Exeggcute can perhaps give it self 1 green energy even if they aren't playing green energy.
