For those wondering about the apple in the bottle, its actually (imo) even cooler than some Harry Potter spell. The empty bottles are tied to the tree with the branch that will carry the apple tucked in it, and it stays there while the apple fully grows and ripens. The liquid comes later.

That makes so much sense. I was trying to figure it out and all I came up with was blowing the bottle with a wide mouth at first, putting the apple in, and then somehow keeping the bottom of the bottle/apple cold(maybe submerging that half in water), and heating up the top to pinch it closed. The real answer is so much more simple.

Those "classic minced onions" from McDonald's are actually dehydrated. They come in a bag (30 bags to a case), and they're just... little dried onion flakes. You dump them in a container, fill the container with water, cover it, and stick it in a fridge for... Well officially you're supposed to use cold water and rehydrate for 2 hours. But if you're in a rush and you're running out of "dehyds" (as they're called), you can use hot water and stick them in the fridge for an hour. They taste exactly the same, but they can end up... kinda pink.
