I've listened to adhan for weeks, every day. Hours and hours. In between prayer 6 times a day, every day. I'm more productive, less tired, have found energy and strength I forgot I had. I have calmed, not as angry, not slowly calming my soul. Finally, I had been on a hell of a journey for the past 27 yrs since my father killed my mother and Police did nothing to stop it.. I have forgiven, and able to move on beyond the hold the evil had upon me, MashALLAH. I did Shahada 2019..

Selam aleykum sheikh Belal, your videos are doing wonders. I just wanted to let you know how much clear guidance I'm gaining from your khutbahs and discussions. The ones here on youtube, the ones on the podcasts of Muslim Central. They're top tier entertainment for during long chores at work, they really help me pass the time and also get me to think, reflect and understand the deen and Islam as a whole. This knowledge that I gain, I also love spreading it to my fellow muslims at work and outside of work too as most of us are young and still learning. You were talking about cause and effect and how us muslims really take it to heed? Well here is a good example of the beautiful effect your khutbahs have! Keep the video going, lots of respect to you sheikh, selam aleykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatahu and jazakAllahu khairan inshaAllah wa ta'ala

Mashallah sheikh Bilal is so articulate. The only thing that never made sense to me when my mom would nag at me for not folding the prayer mat each time I got up and left, even i thought something along the lines of, "wouldn't it be great if shaytaan actually prayed or read the Quran so why stop him from doing so". Alhamduliah sheikh Bilal clarified it and many more myths. I had innocently used the "blue evil eye emoji" once or twice in my life but I know that it has no power nor am I connecting any beliefs to it. I just once believed in my pen being the lucky one cz it would run out of ink after many days and I would write smoothly with it. That's all. May Allah forgive me if I have done something wrong without me realizing it.

It's clear that you are somebody who uses logic and may you always have the courage to believe in and follow your own mind that Allah has blessed you with to think and ponder upon what's right and wrong. While it's natural to me I do find it baffling that people in general do not really 'think' and I don't understand that - I mean everyone has brains don't they? These aren't complex deep rocket-science kinda thinking that's required and that's what baffles me - how come people don't think when it's as clear as water to some of us?

@@fbcork2003 😂😂😂😂 *Atheists claim that they are intellectually superior to religious people because they are willing to question their beliefs, whereas religious people are dogmatic and refuse to question their deepest beliefs and won't consider evidence that could potentially undermine those beliefs.* Well, have you ever heard an atheist say: "I wonder if constantly increasing individual freedom is a good thing." "I was wrong about democracy being a viable system." "Maybe the sexual revolution was a mistake." "The evidence shows that equality of the sexes is destructive." "Let's have a debate on if freedom of speech and religion is good for society." "Could it be that women need fewer rights?" I have never seen an atheist raise these questions or hold these positions up to serious scrutiny. Nor do they provide any evidence for their beliefs on these matters. They simply assert them and ridicule and mock anyone who disagrees with them.

Here are some ways to earn good deeds after death: 1) Give a copy of the Qur'an to someone. Each time one reads from it you gain. 2) Donate a wheelchair to a hospital. Each time a sick person uses it you gain. 3) Participate in building a masjid. 4) Place a watercooler in a public space. 5) Plant a tree. You gain whenever a person or an animal sits in its shade or eats from it. 6) And the easiest of all, share this message to spread the goodness.

There are thousands and thousands of unIslamic myths and cultural practices from so many countries and cultures that Muslims live in, that are so far removed from Islam and the Prophet's example of how to live sensible and righteous lives, it would be impossible to list all of them in a video or a document! Sheikh Bilal has only scratched the surface of what is an endemic phenomenon. The best strategy would be focus on 2 sources and you won't go wrong and Allah will help you in your path - the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet (alahi-ssalatu-wa-ssalam) instead of wasting your energy focusing on the millions of myths and superstitions in the world, you may never ever have time to know all of them! And use your own mind and intellect that Allah has blessed you with, to know what is clearly right and what is clearly wrong. May Allah help you.

I’m asking about the hadeeth below in Al Bukari … Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Neither Messiah Ad-Dajjal nor plague will enter Medina. Plague is another name for pandemic or epidemic. So if no plague/pandemic/epidemic is allowed in these 2 cities what was going on there? And why are dejaal and plague mentioned together in the same sentence? It implies a connection. Allah knows best all things.
@belal.assaad
@belal.assaad 9 ай бұрын
There are 3 answers to this covering to classical scholars: 1. Another had were in Bukhari says ‘dajjal not a plague will whether Madina Insha-a-’Allah (Allah-Willing)’ . The additional word ‘Allah Willing’ means there is a chance a plague can enter. However nothing in history has been documented that it has. As for the Dajjal, it is confirmed he will never enter it because the words ‘inshllah’ were not attached to his name. 2. That a plague will not enter but a pandemic/epidemic may. the Hadith does not say ‘pandemic/epidemic’, it specifically says ‘ta’oun’ plague, which is different to general pandemic/epidemic because although a plague can be epidemic not all epidemics are plagues. 3. That if a plagues does enter, possibly, it will not have the same effect as other parts of the world where the plague hit in history. These are the words of the classical scholars such as Ibn Hajar, Imam Malik and others. Allah knows best

WaSalam, tahneek is a recorded sunnah of the prophet pbuh and he did it for his grandchildren Al-Hassan was-Hussein raa. As for visiting graves on Eid and Friday’s, this is not from the sunnah, it is not and Islamic thing to do. It most likely an imitation of the Christians tradition as they go to the graves on Easter and Christmas etc. Eid is a time of hoot not sadness and so is Fridays. So no, it is not permissible to specify Friday’s and Rid to visit the graves.

May Allah continue to bless you to positively influence the good in us whether among Muslims or not, to motivate humans to use their brains and think deeply about what we see around us - cultural practices, myths and superstitions which the majority do not have the courage to let go fearing what others around them might think of them, instead of believing in themselves and in what is sensible and right. You've barely delved into cultural superstitions and myths imagine how many thousands more there must be in different cultures and countries!!! I had heard from your marriage video how Indonesian men are forced to affirm their long Nikaah vows in a single breath 😂 Laughed upon hearing the prayer mat - I know people who do that and there's no point having a discussion, it is so ingrained that most people like to blindly follow than listen to reason and this is the same whether Muslims or not. I know Muslims who practice hundreds of superstitions - In India, in Kerala it's not just folding the prayer mat claiming if not the devil would pray on it 😂 (as if a prayer mat is mandatory for prayer - what about the clean earth we pray upon, who goes around folding the land?? or the big carpets in mosques - can't people think and see that they're just left as they are!!); There's kissing the finger after prayer! Myths such as removing body hair being haram 🤣- extrapolating this ridiculous notion from the Hadith about shaving eyebrows -as if eyebrows and body hair were the same thing! If that was the case all Arab woman who wax and beautify their bodies must be committing haram - how absurd and foolishly ridiculous! (imagine encouraging girls and esp married women to have hairy legs and arms like a man - a big turn-off!!!) Myths that tidying up and shaping one's eyebrow is haram - does it make any sense at all - I can understand why shaving off eyebrows is frowned upon in Islam along with tattooing, branding etc, but where's the logic in beatifying one's messy brows a haraam act??? Most Muslims love the word haram and they just need to just take a chill pill and stop judging - look to your Western fellow human beings, they may be weak in religion and imaan but take lessons from their ikhlaaq, their respect for people, for maintaining healthy boundaries even within close family , their respect for women and their rights, their open-mindedness and thinking about things, and many more! The myth among Kerala Muslims that salaah for females can only be performed in white 2-piece prayer outfit and nothing else even if it clearly covers the Awrah, I've seen this among Indonesian women too!!! The myth about enshrouding a deceased female Muslim in the previously-mentioned worn-out white prayer clothes (instead of the Prophet's sunnah of the 3 piece cloth for females) - one lady argued with me that it even helps the body decompose quicker! 😆 All sorts of worshipping and visiting saints and shrines and making large donations to these in times of need, sickness, danger etc; - much like the Catholic tradition. The myth that it is FORBIDDEN (!!!) for a woman to cover her face and the hands if she wishes so! Women again from Kerala have argued with me using (wrongly!) the Hadith that a woman should cover all of her body EXCEPT the face and the hands, according to their skewed understanding of ahadeeth taught to them by scholars who know no better ( ! ), they think EXCEPT face and hands = STRICTLY DO NOT COVER face and hands!!! How does one even reach that conclusion ??! Hundreds and thousands of these superstitions are influenced by the Hindu tradition and culture that Muslims (and Christians) in India are immersed in. Their own ancestors would've been Hindu reverts at some point in time, so the source of these unIslamic traditions amongst Muslims is clear. In north India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, I've noticed the practice of giving more than one first names to newborn males - the first one would be Mohammed and a second one sometimes with no meaning yet that name is ignored and the second one is used, kind of like the Catholic/Christian tradition of several first names. I've read about women who've given horrible names by selecting a random word from the Qur'an while not even bothering to check what it means (as though every single word in Qur'an could only be a good word!, it's a language like any other language!), I knew somebody whose grandmother who apparently was religious named her as Bint-ullah (daughter of Allah!) and her sister as Banee-ullah (family of Allah)😱😳 , people whose first language isn't Arabic should at least make some effort to know what a word means in Arabic when they randomly select words from Qur'an or pair up words! The Kerala and possibly Indian practice of wearing black threads and/or several black bangles around wrists, black strings tied around the belly, the drawing (using charcoal-based pencils) of thick eyebrows and black dots on eyes, cheeks and foreheads of newborns (poor babies!) and children to protect from the evil eye; Muslims women in south Kerala and probably elsewhere in India are forced usually by their mother-in-laws to practise the Hindu marital tradition of wearing (and never being able to take off) a necklace called 'thali' or 'mangalsutra' when in Islam a necklace isn't even a part of the Mahr dowry; Among Muslims especially in Kerala, the bridegroom demands dowries from the bride!!! (meaning his family, as in India and some Asian cultures, parents make life decisions such as these even choosing the life partner when their child is in fact a fully grown and mature adult!) (I would actually recommend Googling how insanely greedy these dowry demanding families are , read about the sheer amount of wealth - gold, money vehicles, furniture that is requested and what's worse is despite this shameful unIslamic practice the newly-wed bride doesn't even get to have her own dwelling with her husband - which is HER right and how you see Arab Muslim men and women get married and having their own space and home away from the mother-in-law and male in-laws- its acts like these that are clearly ΗΑRAM - and clearly these are all Hindu traditions that is not only practised by Muslims of the Hindu Subcontinent - India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Srilanka, Bangladesh, etc but some of them such as drawing black eyeliner and eyebrows on babies can even be seen in South Yemen, (due to the influence of trading between India and Yemen along the spice route), it's not seen much now but I remember hearing how some used to do this back in the 70's and 80's. Don't even get me started on the wrong beliefs around menstruating women and the Qur'an!!! People underestimate the power of culture over logic even in the presence of revelation! One of my neighbours in the MiddleEast was from Kerala-India and during our a ladies Qur'an recitation session that someone initiated among the neighbours, while I was translating to the Indian women the meaning of the Arabic words (as an Arab woman) of Surat-AhShams that I had just recited, she argued with me that the Qur'an is only supposed to be read and NOT translated and understood!!! 😂(does that even make any sense, if so how would any Arab or Arabic speaker then be able to read the Qur'an given that he or she would automatically understand the meaning of most words?!. Goes on to show how silly and foolish some people are, there's no point in even engaging with people like them. I can only imagine the sheer number of myths practised in other Islamic communities and these all only go to show how far Muslims are removed from their brains and from the wisdom of Islam and the Prophet's example of living sensible and righteous lives. 😳

I'm glad you exposed those superstitions that exists among Muslims. There was one that I wished that you would have mentioned which is when Muslims say that there are invisible jinns in the bath room so you have to say a dua for protection.

So much is related to common sense, if we think about all of this superstition. I go to the graveyards just to remind myself that this is my final destination. My 18-year-old daughter has gone back to Allah, but I miss her so I go to see her grave. My daughter was in her final year of Islamic study. May Allah give her the status of martyrdom. I experienced this belief of men are superior to women as a daughter, a sister, and worst of all as a wife. I have been struggling to get an honorable divorce as prescribed in Quran since 2015 to this day. My right to get a divorce has been hindered by my family as well because of the cultural myths that divorce is a curse rather than a solution. I have been psychologically abused throughout my life by external and internal stupid Eastern and Western cultures. I have been going through emotional torture as a result of seeking a divorce. 💔

I feel for you my dear sister. You seem to be from the Indian (Hindu) culture given the perspective you shared about divorce - clear to me and you how unIslamic it is and yet these are communities with "Muslim" scholars and imaams clearly with no clue how unIslamic their Islam is! At least alhadulillah you have the mind to know that what you have lived through is unIslamic and wrong, even if not a single Muslim around you believes that. I know wha you are going through as I lived it. Today I exist as a refugee in a Western country having escaped from the misery of a life that made me depressed, diseased and suicidal. If I had waited to get a divorce in a male-dominated male-controlled Arab country where you need your husband's permission to even travel, I wouldn't even be alive today! What does it tell you when in Islam, a man can divorce merely by uttering the words, but a woman has to face this kind of misery and suffering that she ends up developing mental health difficulties because Allah Himself did not make it easy for us like he did for men to get a divorce? It makes one wonder why Allah made lives harder for women, why He hates us so while so many who live and blindly follow like sheep follow these toxic cultures and practices have loving parents and hence childhoods, good marriages, good standing in society - normal lives. Makes me want to believe in the Hindu religion's logic of past lives and karma just so that I can make some sense of horrible destinies for many people. Think of those born as non-Muslims to abusive childhoods or to poverty, falling easy prey to violence and mental health disorders and the trauma that follows their lives to their deaths as non-Muslims. I genuinely feel for them as I see a lot of that here in the West - homelessness, the trauma and pain of that and the resultant addiction to drugs and alcohol just so that they can cope with the pain and emptiness, how is it fair on those poor souls? They aren't enjoying or having amusement in this life, so how is it fair on them that they don't even have the opportunity for guidance from Allah? Alhamdulillah that I was given refuge here, it isn't easy escaping as a single woman and I praise the Western values of human rights here in the West and may Allah guide them to the right path. Human rights and even more so female rights are shockingly lacking among Muslims not only in the patriarchal conservative Muslim countries, but even among Muslim communities in the West who just bring their toxic cultures and thinking with them! My life experiences since my childhood has made me dislike life, dislike men in general, dislike people in general esp the Muslim communities who love to judge and hold on to unhealthy, absurd and discriminatory cultural practices and their own versions of haram and halal! (A Pakistani female came over to shush me in the ladies section of the masjid during 2015 Ramadan while I was reciting Qur'an, saying my voice shouldn't be heard to the men across in the men's section!!! I stopped going altogether to the masjid after that. Such Muslims here source Halal meat thinking they're better Muslims when in fact all animals according to European law are stunned before slaughter, how Halal is that? Not caring that the Halal chicken they buy from ethic shops are not free-range ethically-raised and treated birds but are antibiotic and hormone-fed caged chickens - what kind of meat are they putting in to their bodies? As far as the way they think, if it says Halal then is Halal - no concept at all of what Halal means and the purpose of such laws. There's nothing to respect about such men AND women especially those who support male dominance and the oppression and control of women and children. Peace, compassion, empathy, respect for personal space, freedom to heal, to exist and to be heard, to express opinions, to engage in respectful meaningful conversations, deeds and actions that make sense and honest kind and non-judgemental people regardless of race, color, gender or religion are what I try and keep around me today. There is verse about Allah not changing a thing until people themselves start the change, something to that effect. I would advice you to continue praying to Allah and ask for help in getting out of this unhealthy situation you are in. Since you have access to internet, Google and find human rights organisations in the country you are staying in, or an international organisation, or a renowned women's shelter group or all of them and let them know your situation and that you seek divorce and refuge/support in doing so and possibly in future given how your family doesn't support you and the reality of a woman's life in a patriarchal conservative society where you couldn't live and exist on your own like one can do in the West. I'm sure inshaAllah they should be able to offer help and advice. You also need counselling and therapy given what you're going through, I know how mental health is non-existent in the everywhere but the West so see if you can get something through these organisations. I noticed you visit the grave a lot, be careful and make sure this is not coming out of your depression or any Sihr associated with graveyards. If you perform night prayer, pray everyday to Allah to open a way for you and heal you while you do all these things and pray Salatul Istikharah if it helps you - it has never worked for me as I never know the signs, its ΤΗΑΤ vague with no pattern but it might help you. May Allah change your life around and give you a reason to live and the health to live it.
