Man they did a great job on this guy. I got to mess with one over the weekend since my buddy picked him up at the con. If I had the space I’d definitely start a IDW collection and he’d be first in line with the DJD.

that run of IDW from 2009 to 2019 was the best Transformers fiction hands down!!! i read the whole run 3 times through and enjoyed every time i read it. had a real made for TV feel like it could have been an animated series

I feel like we paid extra because it's a limited release and I'm o.k. with that. If this had been a standard release I'd expect an $80 to $100 price for the exact reasons you mentioned.

The thing that confuses me about this release is its rollout. First it was a normal release, then it was a planet steel exclusive, and now it was put as a con exclusive? I wonder if mtmte is too niche for the general market now.

Rung holdin' his cheeks, haha! Ornamental or not for an alt mode, I wonder if the intention was a two handed reverse (un)Magnifying Glass so that you could see a "bigger picture." The scooter is a nice touch. I love that this is only an EARLY RELEASE as opposed to an Exclusive. I was confused when it was announced and was looking forward to it, so I'm glad that got cleared up. Anyway, great review, as always, mac! =P

Such an awesome fig. Kinda wish he came with a wheel chair tho. That and now all MMC needs to do is redo their Whirl, reignite the idea of doing Fort Max (and not tying him down to some dumb crowd fund project), and boom. The tools to make a pretty neat diorama bit

Man. I was very excited about this figure when they first announced it. Then they dropped the TFcon exclusive bomb and that was so disappointing. I live in the Caribbean and it's not so easy to get to the big conventions. Plus...with so many good figures coming over the horizon, I don't think I'll be willing to pay 2nd market prices for this guy. That's a bummer.

MMC is generally regarded as CHUG (Generations) scale, and smaller than Masterpiece. Personally, I tend to think of these and similar from Planet X, G-Creation, as something of an IDW-Masterpiece, sidestepping the usual G1 norms and scaling of other Masterpiece.

Most consider MMC reformatted to be CHUG scale. They're basically old, (pre-Seige), Voyager scale.

This guy looks spot on! I looooove the character and I flipped out when it was announced. Having said that, I cancelled my preorder because I just can't seem to justify the expense for what it is-- and I have no regrets about that. Thanks for the review!!

Seeing how great this one is it just makes me really hope they do the Last Stand if the Wreckers crew. Especially Ironfist. I love the Guzzle they did a couple of years ago and they really do excel at making these IDW 2D characters come to life in 3D. It would be great if they included Verity in her armor suit with him, that would be a great pairing. Thanks for the review Bobby. I haven't read The Lost Light series but I would like to. This character has a lot of personality and I enjoy the scooter and accessories. I wish they would have engineered nicely sculpted articulated fingers for him. Maybe they tried and it just doesn't hold up at this small size... Still I wish they would have tried. Also if they had three faces and a way for the goggles to drop down from his head like the visor for the Studios Series Hot Rod that would have been great. I would prefer some clever engineering to seven heads and like 12 hands.

I think what really bugs me about the inflated price is that comes with all those alternate heads and hands, something that isn't necessarily unappreciated, but still rather unnecessary, especially when most of that could have been replaced with articulated fingers and swappable face plates in other figures.

I find a lot of MMC stuff is over price - 3rd party CHUG at 3rd party MP prices. On ShowZ this guy is about the same price as Deformation space starscream.....

The engineering alone costed more on this guy while DS copied most of its engineering from TT. There’s a lot of factors we don’t think about.

DS takes very little engineering from tt. But certainly used other companies examples. I agree with the overall message just different details. And also agree about the profit margins for this vs any mainstream character

To be fair, MMC usually makes solid figures. I find them to make sturdy figures that you can fiddle with without breaking.
