I lost my wife and soulmate of 24 years going on 3 years ago. When I was with her, I used to tell her the same thing every night before we went to sleep... Good night Sleep tight, Because you know somebody loves you. Going on 3 years after losing her I still say the same words every night. We had the same pact, but it's not easy finding someone else when my standards are set so high. It would have to be a deep, soul connection, anything else just wouldn't do. But deep down I feel like NOT finding someone is like saying that I wouldn't have done it with her again if given a chance. Like love is no longer worth the risk of the loss at the end. This weekend I met Stephen Curtis Chapman in person. He's one of the most humble, giving Christian man I've ever met. The love he and his wife bestowed on each other this weekend was just precious to me. I am especially appreciative to his daughter, Emily, my dear friend. This song is so important to me because it gives me HOPE! My husband died by suicide awhile back(very traumatic.) By the grace of God and my special friend Emily and her husband Tanner, they have helped thru my healing journey. This song, the sentiment, and lyrics give me HOPE that one day God will provide a Godly man who feels this way about me and me about him. whenever i hear this song, i am transported back to the days when i would be laying under the covers in my pink heart bed, room dark except for the light from the hallway coming through the open door, giving me just enough light to see my dad sitting at the foot of my bed with his guitar playing this song for me to fall asleep to. i am 24 next week and i still see and hear it clear as day. because of the movie "through night and day" this song reminded me of my late hubby he once said he wanted this song for me this is his theme song for me and when i heard this, the pain of losing him came rushing down on me (he died 26yrs ago i was 20yrs old back then 😔😔😭) whenever i thought of him the pain is still there, questions like will we still be together if he is still alive? what our future looks like? 😔 but we've got a son who looks like him who is as kind and sweet as him son that a mother can b proud of.

Beautiful Song... I remember hearing it even before I knew who was husband was going to be. I listened to it intently and believed all the words. After 11 years of marriage, I won't deny it's ups and downs but when I said "I Do", I surely meant it with all my heart and I still do, even today. Could it have been easy to give up through life's roller coaster rides? Of course it would have, but when I said "I do", I not only said it to my husband, I said it to God and all those around us who witnessed our love and devotion to one another. I wish people wouldn't give up so easily on their vows and I know every situation is unique but when we say "I Do", we are saying it to our future children, our future grand kids, our future selves and God's intentions are for us to stick through the struggles, the unknowns but most importantly, to lean on Him when times are not only great, but when times are down right harrowing too. God will be here too. As I listen to this song it brings back the memories of my late husband Dennus Tolley He made it home from Vietnam and to find out that he had been exposed to agent orange he only lived 9 months after he found out that he had cancer. Steven God gave you a special gift You remind me of Jim croce and Carol King And John Dever. I will always love your music and it was a honor to meet you at bunker hill on the beautiful Tennessee river. I also hope that my children play this song for me when I pass .For I will be here in my spirit and with my jesus in heaven. Thank you for such a beautiful song.

I came across your comment at the grief of love ones post here on KZbin. ☹️That’s so touching and I know how it feels to be lonely without our love ones, we've all loss our love ones in death one way or the other, either a spouse, child, family members, or a true friend that meant the world to us, such is life I truly understand how you feel cos I’ve felt same unbearable experiences before but death is just inevitable no matter how hard we try! And we'll all have to face it someday, and every of our love ones we’ve loss will always want to see us happy again wherever they’re. I loss my oldest daughter Annabel February 24th 2020 in a crucial car accident, and she just turned 22 on her last birthday before she got knocked down by a moving vehicle 🚗 and so unlucky for me that horrible day the driver was drunk. That was the worst and most lamenting day of my whole life as a single Dad raising two kid's, my 17 years old son Clark and my 4 legged 🐶 families are my everything and the reason I still keep strong, and keep going! My late wife passed away three years ago from a shocking disease, I felt devastated with grief, and I was so heartbroken 💔 but God and time are indeed the best healers. Hope you’ve found peace, comfort and happiness again? I'd love to talk to you more if you don't mind! So it would be nice to get a reply from you when you got time okay. 🌹

This was my wedding song in 2001. A friend introduced me to it. I was hesitant about picking a Christian song for my wedding song because I’d never hear it on the radio. An amazing thing happened, My husband and I heard it on our honeymoon - in Hawaii at a luau! It was a miracle. I started crying. My husband has it on videotape. I’ve never heard it in public again.
