Philippine Airlines AMAZING Business Class on the A350-900. London to Manila

i am from the philippines, so most of travels are usually with PAL (philippine airlines). you are very fortunate to have flown on their new a350 plane for lhr-mnl trip. although they may not have the best hardware on their planes, i can proudly say that their service on-board is beyond impressive. and, in my travel experience, PAL delivers the smoothest landings.

what i am proud about being filipino is the service of the inflight cabin crew of philippine airlines. my last flight with them was the one i had bound from cebu to osaka. it was a regional flight, so the plane is one of the smaller ones. but i only have praises for the flight attendants' attention to their service to the passengers. what philippine airline lack in hardware, they certainly make up for service. also, philippine airlines provides the smoothest landings ive experienced.

PAL used to have an extensive European network before the financial crash in 1995. They used to fly to Zurich, Rome, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam.

Philippine Airlines really focuses on quality, it's sad that they are slowly getting bankrupt because most passengers nowadays prefer cheaper alternatives like low cost carriers.

If PAL really focused on its quality, it would know that most of its Balikbayan customers are in the Economy Class where the food is terrible and the menu hasn't changed since the 90s. The main reason it is still afloat is because it exclusively provides direct flights to the Philippines.

If these are the kind of of top of the line aircraft they fly.. incredible food / options..super crew.. and overall very nice service that they offer...they are going to steal away a lot of passengers from other carriers..with this kind of product they should definitely fly to more European destinations..by the way...the wing and engine views over the city in the night , during climb- out.. superb..!! Tried their Business Class last year on B777 on the same route. Hands down to their inflight service as well as the top notch hospitality of their FAs. Agree that they badly needed to improve their ground service especially their outdated Mabuhay lounge. Hope to try their A350 in the future. Great review by the way! :)

The love bus throwback to the 1980s A300. Speaking of the lovebus😍😍😍❤❤❤ they're also actually used for Non-Stop Manila to Eastern Time Zone United States and Canada routes Pr118 MNL🇵🇭-YYZ🇨🇦 and PR126 MNL🇵🇭-JFK🇺🇸 my mum did fly the longest route in their Network Non-Stop Manila to New York and the return New York to Manila on Fiesta class Philippine Airlines branding economy.

That Love Bus sign is reminiscent of the "Love Buses" that once plowed Manila's EDSA road in the 80's, as I remember. Funny they stuck that up on the plane. Oh well. I guess you can fall in love for the service and, maybe, over an FA?

Both are gone, with the blue Love Buses long retired and EDSA now an example of an engineering exercise gone horribly awry.

Great report, as usual. This turbulence timing is true! By the way, I took the flight to SCL. Inbound, on a Latam B787, was very turbulent and bad weather over the Andes, but outbound was a very pleasant cruise on a B767. I could see the same views that you did in your video.

Whether you were sponsored by PAL or not, I can attest to its excellent service. It's a pity that critics have preconceived bias against the airline, perhaps because of the negative news the Philippines gets from the western press. I've tried Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific that are higher rated but Philippine Airlines has something extra special that one can't point a finger to. It's the overall feeling one gets once the flight is over.

They use it to Australia and Japan and sometimes to regional destinations like KL, Jakarta, Bangkok and Singapore. I have seen videos reviews of PAL's A321 Neo business class on those flights. The older A321 will also be replaced progressively by newer and more spacious A321 Neo.

Having flown PAL both domestic and international, i know PAL will be able to provide service and compete with other 5 star airlines. The big issue with PAL is ground service and the airport facilities. Give it 5 more years before we see a new airport we expect to be world class and at par with other leading airports in the world. Anyway, nice trip report and i like your detail oriented review. I wish you would talk though.

Thanks for your comments. This was my first flight with PAL and I did another one right after which I'll show soon. From these two flights I agree with you that the service is quite high level and it's only a few touches away from a 5*. As I also said in the video, it's down to the ground services to improve mainly towards that last star. A new airport with good facilities and a smooth transit (mine was a bit chaotic...) as well as a good lounge will help significantly. Thanks for your nice comments for the video as well and for the feedback. It is the style of this channel to show the reviews with raw sound, no faces and subtitles only. I started it this way and it seems to be doing well. I appreciate that many people prefer a different style with voice though and I take the comments into consideration. It is something I may consider for the future.

What a beautiful view you have there. I always love to watch videos like this because I have never experienced to get into a plane. I always imagine what it feels just sitting down there as you observe everything in this world from a high vantage point. It makes you feel appreciate more that you live in this world. Just leave behind for the meantime all your troubles on the ground and just fly away soar the sky up high. I live around bonifacio global city and around 15:20 I can picture my house down there. . .I can see sm aura and the ridgewood tower nearby as well. Having been stationed at Cubi Point in Subic Bay for 3 years 88-91 I would have had to stayed in the Philippines for at least a week before going anywhere else.

Those Rolls-Royce engines have the characteristic RR 'buzzsaw' sound you'll also hear on the 757 etc.

Live in Seattle, but retired to Phils 5 years ago. I fly to YVR(Vancouver Canada) to get PAL to Manila. Crew was great, but I have issues with their policies about upgrades and changing flts. Na, I Fly thru Japan or lately Asiana because they into Phils closer to home. Will try Cathay Pacific to CRK(Clark) via Hong Kong.
