Equality happnes only when two set have the same elements. But in the case of the of subsets,one set must have all the elements of the other set. It can also have more elements, but then it won't be equal to that other set. Think it like this was,all equal sets are subsets of eachother. But not all subsets are equal to each set.

on the proper subset, what If A has fewer elements than B, also A has an element that B does NOT. Would this still make A a proper subset of B?

+Jamie allison Set A is a subset of set B if every element in set A is contained in set B. (If set A contains an element which is not contained in set B then set A is NOT a subset of set B.) If sets A and B are equal then set A is still a subset of set B, but it is not a proper subset of set B. Set A is only a proper subset of set B if it is a subset of set B and contains fewer elements than set B.
