i just picked up one of those pre owned for $400,i took the monitor and arm off because i have a peloton already and i don’t need the beach body stuff. super nice bike,really well built,i was concerned about the friction resistance but it works great.

We bought our MYX secondhand and do not have the original purchaser's information. Any idea How we can we set up an account and utilize the functions on the monitor? Thanks.

Do you know if BODi can be loaded on a MYX bike bought a year ago?
@ConnectTheWatts3 жыл бұрын
Yes I believe so. But currently it is still in Beta so you might not be able to use Bodi for a little while longer (I believe they plan to be out of Beta before the end of the month)

How does this work with more than one rider? My wife and I both do Beachbody workouts and looking to add this bike and both of us ride.
@ConnectTheWatts3 жыл бұрын
I believe you are able to set up multiple accounts on the bike at no additional cost on the bike.

So can’t figure out how to sync my Apple Watch with the workout so it’s showing my numbers on the screen as I ride. You didn’t really bother to explain it in the video. Sounds like I have to have a myx fitness account in the myx fitness app, but I’m a beachbody customer. I have BODI. Disappointing that I can’t connect the Apple Watch to my new bike.
@ConnectTheWatts3 жыл бұрын
Yes the OpenFit membership had the Apple Watch synch added just last month, and from what I understand it is coming to BODi soon

I’ve been wondering how this bike stacked up, great review. I do think it’s important to be cognizant of Beachbody’s MLM business structure when considering the MYX/BODi as many people aren’t comfortable buying into that model.

Should I be wary of that model?

Also important to note that Beachbody and team Beachbody are different things. Team Beachbody is the portion of the company that the “coaches” are associated with

I switched from peloton its way better live content. Bike better too. Swivel screen puts it over the top and the costs are way lower.

Why do they all have to come with some fuckin class setup? I'm just looking for a walking pad alternative for my standing desk, I'm not paying $40/month for a bunch of nonsense classes

If you are a cyclist, don't waste your time/MONEY with this bike. First off, there is no export or link to Strava. "If it's not on Strava, it didn't happen" as the saying goes. So a $30/month subscription for a closed system is ridiculous! Most other fitness subscription services allow export of files or crosslink to Strava and other tracking platforms. That alone is a deal killer for the subscription. Second, the bike only works with the Polar armband for HRM. I have tried a Garmin, CooSpo, Wahoo, etc. It will see them, but not pair. The Polar is a $90 purchase if you have to replace it vs $25 - $40 for others. If you want cadence, you have to purchase a Wahoo Cadence FOB separately. This will be $40 and you will need to install yourself. There is no power meter!!! I repeat - THERE IS NO POWER METER!!! So when you turn the knob, you have no idea what your resistance is and you have to do it all by feel. And thus no average power available. No speed/distance either. Granted there are no gears on these bikes, but on a Peloton, my avg per hour is about 17mph, where on my MTB I do 11.8 - 12.5 and on my road bike 19.8 - 22.1 depending on where I ride. Therefore, the Peloton is a happy median between the two which is good because I track my weekly work on Strava by mileage rather than hours. The coaches for cycling rides are pretty lame. On a hill climb, the coach instructed me that I don't need to stand when he does, just do my own thing... How inspiring... On Peloton, they advise you to do what they do to the best of your ability and back off the resistance if you have to, and thus they do a much better job of coaching and pushing you. They have these scenic rides which were frustrating because they are edited, and very poorly edited. As you are riding along, about every 2-3 minutes they cross fade to another section of roadway ahead, or to a different road for no reason. I would assume the logic behind this would be to keep things interesting and moving, but that's not the case because when the vehicle filming pulls over onto the shoulder or dead end at the end of the route, you watch it slow down and then sit there idle on the side of the road for a good 10-15 seconds before cross-fading to a new route. ABSOLUTELY WORST VIDEO EDITING EVER for something like this. In closing, for this price, if you are a cyclist, I would look at an off-wheel trainer and use with Trainerroad, Zwift, or some other software on your phone, tablet. You could save a few bucks and get a much more accurate workout. If you want a good stationary, go with the Peloton or similar that has Strava link (or export of your GPX workout file), speed, cadence, power, heartrate, etc. This thing is mechanically built well, but that's where the similarities end. The tech has been majorly skimped on.

Your saying don't waste your money but tell people to buy a peloton bike that has no swivel screen and lower ram. Ya ok buddy. I am happy with my myx bike and my peloton bike was sold on ebay. Good riddens.
@galacticcyclist24393 жыл бұрын
@@boomshakalaka8655 so you don't read very well and you are definitely not a cyclist athlete. Also I never said "Go buy a Peloton". Personally, I'm glad you are happy with your bike and unfortunately for you Radar, I'm gosh darn fresh out of stars or I'd pin one on your happy little self. Good for you that a swivel monitor and ram make you all warm and fuzzy. However, everything I pointed out in my post is factual in regards to features and comparison. Also, most cyclists I know, especially in our community want to track progress and transfer data between other systems like Strava, Trainerroad, Zwift, TrainingPeaks, etc... The list is long and all serious athletic performance software developers know this and thus planned accordingly to make their products competitive in the market. Any basic on-wheel or offwheel trainer has the ability to report speed, cadence, power, distance, and heart rate. These are the de-facto data points when working any kind of planned training schedule, whether for race, or just personal performance. MYX fails majorly in this category, and Peloton does not, that's a fact. Software and features aside, the bike is built quite well, but shortcuts like putting the weight rest on the handlebar was a stupid idea. When you are under physical duress from a workout, the last thing you should do is be leaning forward to grab weight, using your back while seated. This is actually dangerous and I imagine it's only a matter of time before someone tries to sue them for poor design. The weights should be behind the seat so that your torso is upright, maintaining lifting load in a vertical position. I get it, you're not really serious about you health, uneducated about athletic performance, and just looking to make snyde remarks online to people you don't agree with. Maybe you should go get a real bike, get out of your house and do something productive like log 3000 miles this year. It's a much better idea than doing a terrible job of trolling other users on youtube and merely exposing your ignorance on said topic. Have wonderful day and get yourself away from social media for awhile.... It would do you some good.

Does Strava and the others have a monthly cost? So you have any video recommendations that show setups you like? Thanks in advance!
