Cannot over stress how much music was a part of our generation. God blessed us with the greatest decades of music from the 50's to the 90's. Music filled our life in every area. We heard it every hour of the day and night. Music which spoke of every part of our lives from love, war, death, loss. home, family, and more. It was in the air we breathed and all through our hearts, bodies, mind and spirit. Great names in music whom forged albums of creative genius which still live on forever.

@@EconAdviser Not just about the constant hearing of the music in the 59's to the 90's. It was the package deal of the creation of a whole new sound and constant creative stream of Rock and Roll and beyond. It was the constant beat and sound with a period of the creation of music output which still has not been duplicated with the creative force of those days. The constant variety was astounding of the vast genius output of those years.

What a voice !!! No other female singing artist has ever had such well rounded perfection. Her versatility, very high pitch voice, her pitch sustainability, her ability to sing in more than 1/2 dozen genres and all extremely well. Linda Ronstadt has clearly proven without a doubt, that singing is not yelling, hollering, nor screaming- loud, but delivering beautiful angelical musicical sounds such as only Linda could. No other female singer has ever been comparable to her.

in my opinion Linda was the greatest female vocalist of all time. Thats just IMO though- i want to make that clear because i hate when people make a competition out of music. If you ever get a chance to watch the recent documentary about her its worth your time. She could sing any style, she sang rock, folk, standards, she stared and sang in the Opera, She had several number 1 albums in Mexico where she sang Mexican music. Im a big fan.

Today's music is so filled with overdubs, and complex 24+ track arrangements that it is almost impossible to perform live. This performance is from an earlier, more sincere era, where people were expected to be able to perform live at a level very close to the recording studio. It's amazing how good they are.

I was an American high schooler in Frankfurt in the mid-Seventies, and one night as I was riding my ten-speed home to the Drake-Edwards Housing Area, I noticed an advertising kiosk with a big poster for a Linda Ronstadt concert. And I had to stop. It was that picture of Linda. And it was really nice to see.

What rarely gets mentioned about Linda was the fact she never tried to overpower whomever she sang with ... for such an insecure talent like her that's amazingly confident ... and humble.

@@MiguelSouza-pe8dq It's well known that she didn't think of herself as a great vocalist or talent. This was even mentioned in the CNN documentary --- that although confident in her ideas, she lacked confidence in herself.
