At the risk of sounding old, it cannot be denied that they simply don't make music like this anymore. I've seen Kenny and Jim in concert several times now, and not only are they both extremely talented, but ALL of the musicians in the band are nothing less than top notch. Don't pass up any opportunity to see these guys if you ever get one!

100% correct later BBoomer here (1959) L&M, many other artists back then were drawing on past musicians and the entire musical lexicon before them, tributing the best of the past while clearly expanding on it & making it unique for their (our) generation Soul, creativity abounded. It was hard to keep up with everything that was happening, especially because the information highway had not yet been built. And boy - - It MEANT something if you could access a bootleg recording of... well, anything. Now, Most of what we hear (new music) is drawing on machinery and computer processing to "create"; fix, and formalize (read standardize) their sound to fit what... the younger generation has been largely programmed into accepting. Hard to insert and maintain true creativity and soul into that recipe. Perfection is boring. Auto tune is just that. Auto Pilot. Go to sleep and let the machines do what should be your artistic job. OK OK... nothin wrong with technological assistance (lord knows the sweet spot of music 1960-75 was in part sweet because of technological advancements opportunities new sounds) And yes - - FWIW the sound on this 2005 concert video has certainly fallen somewhat victim to that strive for perfection BUT - - still the soul of these genuine artists cannot but take center stage. I went to the Jones Beach show on the tour... cried a few times. Yet Still - - Give me L&M On Stage 1974 and see y'all in heaven. I am SO GRATEFUL I was born when I was. No bad vibes meant toward you young'uns.

I saw Loggins and Messina in ABQ twice and still live every minute of them. They had us sit to start and blew out the roof to close. Sitting in is my favorite. Great job boys. Keep on rocking! Grew up with weekend jam sessions growing up. The band grew up with me through high school. Tenor, baraton alto.

So often a live performance cannot begin to measure up to the studio work, especially when those comparative studio recordings are exceptional in both sound quality and performance, credited in large measure to Jim Messina. And yet here we have both qualities in a live performance to such a degree that one can even suggest these live versions of the studio songs sound as good if not better that those on the LP, and the performances are equal or better than the controlled studio work. Absolutely astounding. I just love those early albums of these two great artists, and yet here these performances belong equally well next to my studio albums. I sure hope this concert is available on DVD or Blu-ray.

Grateful I saw them, albeit on the last leg of the tour in Nashville. But Heart was headlining in the 70's . ❤️Them then. Love them now. Thanks for letting me watch it.

Wasn't this wonderful ? I'm blessed to have seen Poco and L&M in early 70s. This production was absolutely 💯 perfect 👍 !! ...blessed to have this Masterpiece Concert pop up on my phone 📱!! Ah yes, the miracle of modern technology !! Where'd we be without it 🤔? 😇

Kenny certainly had a lot of success with the movie songs. But with Messina this was the superior music by far.

I met Kenny Loggins in person flying between Seattle and Los Angeles a number of times. I attended L&M in concerts many times in the Bay Area in the 70's. They are one of my all-time favorite bands/musicians. I was struck watching this reunion live '2005 Sittin' In Again Concert' by the gentleman playing the violin, mandolin & steel guitar and the fact that the exceptional horn section rocks. They absolutely kill it! Pristine vocals & Jimmy is one of the best at killer licks on the guitar & backing the vocals. He weaves them so effortlessly throughout the songs that you have to be impressed with everything that he does. He adds another dimension to every piece of music with timely syncopation and added depth/tone. Kenny Loggins, what can I say? He is one of the best and most recognizable voices in all of music - period! There is just something very special about the BLEND of Kenny & Jimmy's voices; it is pure magic personified! It always has been. These guys are the 'real deal,' & each and every one-of-them are extraordinary musicians in their own right. You always get your money's worth at a 'Loggins & Messina' Concert. Jimmy is a master at putting together an incredible supporting ensemble of players. And hey, what about that set? This concert has it all and is no exception as everyone from the Violin, Organ, Bass, Horns and an incredible solid drummer take their timeless songs to a new level. This reunion concert showcases an incredible array of high quality musicians. The sound is tight and the vocals top notch. 'Loggins & Messina' put on a concert that has been over the top from the 70's to this very day. Enjoy the music and take comfort in the fact that we were able to experience a generation with some of the best music of all time! 'Loggins & Messina' never disappoints!
