People saying Makhumalo is annoying for being open and honest about her feelings is what internalized trauma looks like. Talking about issues in black families is frowned upon. Isthembu is a family - the complexities notwithstanding. If talking about issues is a trigger, you should heal.

I don't think she is annoying for being open and honest. She is annoying because of her lack of respect & understanding for other people's boundaries, their feelings, & opinions. I don't know which Africa you are talking about but the one I was raised in there is a way & a manner to raise matters with parents, elders, co-wives, children in a way that is respectful, focuses on solving the problem, & strengthening relationships. We have forgotten our roots & we have adopted Western culture that is not curated to deal or heal the African mind.

Most people aren't qualified to talk about things in such a way that it leads to a resolution. More often, than not, talking makes things worse.
