If Carrie Lam could govern HK, why HK would have the riot in 2019, Good luck HK. Carrie Lam is a British Colony government civil servant. She is short-sighted and just works sticking to her book. But the situation has changed, and she should be sensitive to the political environment particularly China and the US like Singapore, and strike a balance between them. She should have more frequent and direct contact with the Peking and the US officials, especially the top-ranked personnel. I suggest moving Lee Keung to HK to strengthen our ties with Peking for this purpose. If we can have a direct line between Washington and warn China that the US is strongly against suppressing HK people, China may have second thoughts and the disaster may not happen. You may argue that Peking will not allow a formal tie with the US or others but an informal tie such as with Jimmy Lai can be helpful. You can't make a political decision without considering the response of the US. If you want to work with the US he is a stakeholder in any form. The US is a stakeholder in China's foreign affairs if China needs a trade relationship and technology transfer with the US. This is that China can never escape. The AO in HK is of no value they can not touch the ones of power in Peking and the US as well as other countries even the UK. Why the UK is not asked to mediate the riot? They just idle and lie down.
