Randomly found a used version of this cd at a pennywise record store a few days later. A year later the official cd came out. This song was/is a gift to me from a higher power. I have a story bout how I discovered it. Like to hear it? Here it goes: I would hang out around the Virgin Mega Store in Time Square in NYC from 1998 to about 2001-ish. I would often buy CD's from that Virgin Mega Store. One day I purchase an album.. I think it was Everlast's first album, Forever Everlasting. I found it under a CD display and it was filthy and had a few dry liquid stains on the plastic which could have been mouse urine but I wanted the album so I purchased it anyway. They wiped it off with something and put it in a bag with a few other promotional items. This happened around "Black History Month" and there was a Black History Month promotional CD in the bag with a few songs on it. I already LOVED N.E.R.D.'s songs "Lapdance", "Rock Star" & "What's Wrong With Me?". I could see there was a N.E.R.D. song on the promotional CD called "Run To The Sun". I took it straight home and put the CD into my not so mini stereo and I instantly fell in love with the song. I was an official N.E.R.D. fan after that. I still own that same promotional CD and always kept Run To The Sun in my music rotation since 2000, when I received the promotional CD with the song on it. I purchase the 2002 album at 12am when it was released. I loved the album but was mildly disappointed to discover the album was redone with live instruments. They should have made it a double album with the studio and rock versions of the album as a set.
