"ChatGPT in Education: Employing the Power of AI Tool for Reshaping Traditional Approaches and Empowering Personalized Learning"
Nermin Hammad, PhD researcher, TEL programme. Instructor, ADNOC Technical Academy, UAE
This research theme examines the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on traditional educational approaches and methodologies. With the rapid advancement of AI technologies, there has been a transformative shift in the field of education, presenting new possibilities for personalised learning, and innovative teaching practices. With the increasing adoption of AI in education, using ChatGPT as an AI powered tool in reshaping traditional educational approaches, ChatGPT has emerged as a significant tool for enhancing teaching and learning experiences. It provides educators and students with a unique platform for interactive engagement and enables individualised feedback, adaptive learning, fostering a more dynamic and student-centred approach to education. Utilising ChatGPT supports educators to facilitate concept clarification and generates customised content, tailored to individual student needs, promoting a more effective learning environment. It serves as a valuable resource for students, allowing them to seek instant guidance, clarification, and support outside the traditional classroom setting. It empowers students to explore and engage with educational content at their own pace. However, the integration of ChatGPT in education also raises ethical concerns and challenges. Ethical considerations are crucial in ensuring responsible integration of ChatGPT as an AI tool. Ensuring the responsible use of AI technology, protecting student privacy, and addressing issues of bias and accuracy are fundamental considerations that need to be addressed in the implementation of ChatGPT in educational settings. The utilisation of ChatGPT in education represents a significant advancement in AI-driven educational tools. It holds great potential for transforming traditional methodologies by providing personalised learning experiences, fostering student engagement, and facilitating interactive communication. However, careful thought must be given to ethical considerations to ensure the responsible and effective integration of ChatGPT in educational contexts.
