While it happens quite a few times for Malaysians, it was always Malaysians saying this to Malaysians, as a way of taunting or as a way to incite someone up for a fight, so to me that sentence does not sting at all cause I’m numb to it. But for someone who has not been exposed to these harsh words, it might’ve hurt them a lot, so I think Raden’s friend actually appreciated her standing up for them. P.S.: These harsh words are often only spoken by older people who are still… close minded in Malaysia.
