I'm a Malaysian Chinese and we were brought up speaking English at home. My neighbour's family also speaks English at home. It's quite common in big cities in Malaysia and Singapore. The downside is that we become less proficient in our own native language! By the way, Deen speaks good English. His Bahasa Malaysia is good too! 💪👍
I should have sent my kid to study in Malaysia. It would be a lot cheaper. 50,000 USD a year was my daughter college tuition. After graduating with one degree she decided to go for nursing degree. That's another 18 months. Now she has double degrees with a good job. She told me to do whatever I want to and not to worry about her. She always thanks me for everything I had done for her. She is now married with a husband who also make a good amount of money. Thanks goodness for that.
