I found electro frogs and dcc don't play well together, make sure you have proper insulating gaps in the switch.

The turnouts on this layout are Atlas Code 55 turnouts and the layout is using a DCC DigiTrax DCS50 Zephyr command station for power and control. The frogs are metal, isolated, and wired to change polarity when the Tortoise machine changes the position of the points. Electrofrog turnouts typically refer to Peco turnouts. So, your comments appear to be inappropriate for this video. However, it is possible that I may have run the locomotive into a turnout that wasn't switched for the locomotive to pass through it. In every case this will create a short when the locomotive hits the frogs because the track polarity will be turned against it. That is an operator error (/ my bad) and has nothing to do with the turnout or a need for additional gapped rails. This video is supposed to be about the locomotive so forgive for any operating errors that I caused while running the locomotive. I will have to watch the video again to see if your comment really needs to stay here. If it doesn't, I will remove both your comment and mine after I make that determination. Keep watching my videos though and feel free to make relevant, insightful, helpful comments germane to the focus of the video.
