Hi Purple. Love the channel. Love the videos. Especially anything around Northampton, Market Harborough or anywhere in between. I grew up in Brixworth but been away a long time, so nice to see the old stomping ground. I remember very clearly seeing and hearing trains trundling along that line. I must admit I'm not a 100% train spotter, but my interest comes from the fact my dad worked on the railways in the 50s and 60s (until Dr Beeching decided he was surplus to requirements), and I used to hear many a tale of the "good old days"! It was partly due to this fact, and my dad knowing people in high places (he knew the signalman!) that he managed to blag us a visit up into Spatton signal box when a train was coming through on one of the last evening's the line was still open. I don't remember anything about the train, but I did get to close the level crossing gates and pull a couple of levers in the signal box, which was great fun for the little lad that I was! Keep up the good work!
