@@InTheWoodyard Any time I buy a $13,000 trailer, I want the bulgey/greedy/no citation boards already on it!! Makes you wonder....none of the pioneers used greedy boards on their dump trailers, that I ever heard of!! 'Course firewoodin' wasn't such a big money hustle then!! No real reason to! They prob made less than $100 per face cord/rick/third of a cord! Can't imagine all the hardships they went thru! No reliable cell phone service, no local saw shop, no approved cans for their gas!! We really got it made! Well, at least you and Tony got it made!! I've heard there's laws in 14 states against having as much fun as you two; I think Wisconsin is one of them!! Beware the firewood police!! Let us know if you go back, and use any Pioneer saws!!

sweet trailer for sure! years and years ago i bought mine from these amish guys in pennsy, a real heavy duty 14 footer it was beautiful, had it a week and a half and i’m cruising in the left lane and this girl in a chevy cavalier in the right lane darts out into my lane and my sweet trailer ripped her car in half, just tore the front and engine right off, and i see the trailer in my rear view mirror in the air whipping the opposite side and it slams into a volvo wagon in the left turning lane at the traffic light pushing it into a mercedes benz , which sent me jack knifing into the intersection, what a scene! cavalier is in two, the volvo was an accordion and the benz’s trunk was up to the front seat, just totaled the three cars, trailer only had some dented fenders…know what killed that trailer…road salt! by the way nobody was injured.

Good question. I think the word Mackinac is derived from both Native American and French(Canadian) spelling and pronunciation of the term. Originally, it was a word used to describe Mackinac island as a giant turtle.

What a road trip that would have been to be on..lol. As a Michigander nothing more awesome then driving across the Mighty Mac as it's called here, if you would have had more time you should have made a full trip by stopping into the largest Stihl dealership in Michigan located in Saginaw..the new trailer looks very sharp and ready for hopefully long time deliveries for the wood yard. Great seeing tony and all his great wisdom.

Nice trailer Chris. You are going to want a 3/4 ton truck for that trailer. I have a 6x12 galvanized trailer, different company but the same as N &N trailer. Even with the trailer brakes you want the power and Heavy duty truck for it’s payload.

You’re the first firewood guy I’ve seen use a galvanized trailer. Even though I’ve been splitting and selling wood for awhile I kinda thought those shiny trailers were aluminum, never realizing they were galvanized. Just looking at them I decided they would always be out of my price range so never gave them a second thought.

Nice trailer Chris. About the only thing I saw on your walk-around that I like designed a bit different is to put the tail lights along the side of the trailer instead of under the trailer. Keeps them out of the road debris, and better protected. Other than that, really nice design and galvanized is a great option.

Get the Trailer coupler Bolt lock. That lock you can use your ignition key from your truck to lock and unlock your trailer. I have them on all my trailers and use one key plus they are hardened steel and it will take hours to get the lock off.

Nice trailer!!! I would also buy a couple heavy duty wheel locks to leave on it as well. No theft that way! Easy to put em on and off. And secures trailer nicely too when you aren't using it often. I use em and nobody has touched my new trailer. :) Cheers!!

Hi Chris, very nice trailer. Similar to my Maxi Roule, all galvanized and two 5200 pound axles. The only issue I have, is when dumping a load, some of the wood pieces get hung-up on the D ring on the bottom of the trailer. Otherwise it's an awesome trailer.
