FYI, this performance was devoted for a student who started the male Rhythmic gymnastics club at the Aoyama university. After he graduated from the college, he found out that he had aggressive cancer. He passed away a few months before this competition. He was only 27 years old. The team decided to use the music which was used by the late team member for his first performance. I was already impressed by their performance, but I was more moved when I learned about the background story.
This performance is a kind of requiem for the graduate of aomori univ who passed away 3 month before this championships. He died of a brain tumor, leaving his wife and two small children. The team decided to re-construct the program ,using the music which the dead person had used in his individual events. I cannot watch this performance without tears and mourning.

OMG!!!!! I've been watching this for years and I still am amazed at the beauty, strength, agility, and grace of these fine young men. I live in the US and teach High School dance teams/color guard (flags/rifle spinning) and while there is a HUGE similiarity, there is an added element that just makes this art form that much more amazing. Commitment to excellence will make any group activity just absolutely beautiful!Thank you to the team, coaches, choreographers and staff who make this happen.

For those who are in search of the music: Although it was true that the music was inspired by the Digital Future Orchestra's "BLUE", this team retains a professional composer, and this version is completely re-arranged and re-recorded, therefore this music is completely different from the original recording. The original version was used years ago by Japan Airlines so it had been fairly known to people. For your information, you can listen to also the original version in this KZbin.
only 2 words,13letters,14characters can express this WOW,PERFECTION

watching the Japanese drama Tumbling brought me here. I've always liked rhythmic gymnastics but only women teams but now I think I'm in love with the mens' teams as well since they're different! Now I can't WAIT for what this year's Olympics have to offer!!

Synchronized and amazing. It must be really difficult if they're doing all these flips on the rg mat because they aren't as bouncy as the artistic gym mats! It's really impressive - their skills, timing and passion for this sport. Really really beautiful.

I think this routine was a tribute to a teammate who had passed away earlier that year, hence the silence. It's still beyond amazing regardless.

Probably, the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I could watch it on repeat all day...
@mistique062011 жыл бұрын
This is the perfection as a total package of, not only the performance by the gymnasts, but also including the attitudes of the teammates and audience throughout the routine, as well as the atmosphere and ambient of the venue arena. The silence and calmness here usually never happen in the competition of this sport; with normally full of loud cheering voices by the teammates. In that sense this phenomenon has never happened before, and may well not happen in the future.

It's hilarious how many people equate gay with dancing, despite the fact that these guys probably get propositioned by the ladies way more often than most other guys. Besides, since when has calling someone gay been insult, junior high? Some people are so afraid of such strange things - I blame it on self-confidence issues. But in regards to these guys, I'm in awe of their abilities - they must have trained hard.

The routine is like a story of people longing to be free as individuals in a conformist society but constantly being pulled back into lockstep with what is expected of them. Together in synchronization they create a magnificent model of achievement while they pay homage to the traditions that guide this in this path. Still the spark of self creativity and unbridled joy burst forth for a short time, but then they learn to apply it in a way that continues to bind their congruent harmony.
