So he lied and said he didn’t love him, to try and make Kuea reveal his REAL personality so they could be honest with each other. Combined with the facts that I) Liam always worried he wasn’t enough for Kuea, 2) their love couldn’t be real if THEY weren’t really being themselves 3) Liam, as he said himself is more about ACTIONS than actual words. So I see it as Liam wanted to shock Kuea by lying about not loving him, so that Kuea would snap and reveal his real self🤷‍♀️ I’m open to other ideas though a I’m sure there’s stuff I missed/forgot.
