Nüoshi (Anishi)-Local production.The signature ingredient of the Ao Naga.

Commonly known also as 'Anishi', Nüoshi is special to the Ao tribe of Nagaland. The dish has made many tastebuds addicted to it. The process of making it takes days and demands manual labour.
Unlike the Colocasia plants available in the hilly region, this variety available in the plains varies in taste as well as color.
Blessed with a fertile plain, the Tzürang valley nestled between the hills of Nagaland and the plains Assam provides the right soil to let it grow abundantly.
It provides a means of livelihood for many of the families too.

Nüoshi is the more definitive and original name. Just that over the years, majority called it as anishi. Either way, it's okay but we call it nüoshi at home..
