जावेद साहब, अगर आज आशा भोसले एक बड़ी गायिका मानी जाती है तो इसका श्रेय उनकी गायन की चौमुखी शैली साथ शास्त्रीय संगीत की गहन साधना को जाता है। इसमें कोई शक नहीं कि ओपी नैयर साहब को उन्हें गति में लाने का श्रेय दिया जाना चाहिए, परंतु ओपी नैयर के गानों को अमर करने का श्रेय भी आशा भोसले को जाता है। अर्थात दोनों का हित आपस में जुड़ा हुआ था। लता जी का विकल्प सिर्फ आशा भोंसले हो सकती थीं। रिश्तो में कड़वाहट का जिम्मेदार ओपी नैयर का सनक मिजाज़ था। अपने सनक मिजाज़ के चलते ओपी नैयर सहाब ने रफ़ी साहब की भी बेइज्जती की थी। आपने इसका ज़िक्र नहीं किया। आशा भोसले रिश्तो से अधिक अपने प्रोफेशनलिज्म को महत्व देती थीं। अपने समकालीन गायकों की शान में उम्र के इस पड़ाव पर किसी भी तरह की पब्लिकली प्रतिकूल टिप्पणी उन्हें शोभा नहीं देती।

I would like to correct one statement that OP Nayyar Sahab and Asha Bhosle partnership was for 17 years, but actually they worked together for 20 years from 1952 to August 5, 1972 when they recorded last song Chain se hum ko kabhi aap ne jine na diya.... their first film was 1952 release Cham Chama Cham and all songs were recorded in the voice of Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle.

But you are rightly said that what ever achieved by Asha ji is only because of great OP Nayyar Sahab. No one else can be given this credit except Nayyar Sahab, because SD Burman ji, Ravi ji and RD Burman ji used her voice when she was already an established singer and SDB had some issues with Lata ji during the period 1957-1962 so he called for Asha ji. Even though Asha ji is not recognising the contribution of OP Nayyar Sahab publicly but her career during 1950-70 is nothing without OP Nayyar sahab's 324 evergreen songs. Her best association was with Rafi Sahab.
