I love his thick and rich sound. He can play the hardest pieces, but clearly he can also interpret easier and more melodic pieces!

They are his own glasses called prismatic glasses. He says it helps with his perception with time. But he is just insanely good.

Moje zainteresowanie @tym bardzo przyjemnym filmem jest również z innych powodów, Być może się mylę, ale w Szkole Muzycznej w Opolu pani prof. od skrzypiec - Danuta Sujata wspominała mi o swoim genialnym uczniu, którego nie miałem okazji poznać w Opolu w latach 1972-80. był koncertmistrz tego wydarzenia - Tomasz Tomaszewski. Jeżeli dobrze kojarzę , proszę o bezinteresowny komentarz.

Roman made those glasse in a way it reduces his field of vision, helping him to concentrate much easier (according to an interview)

There is a video where he explains the glasses. Essentially he designed them himself in order to manipulate his perception of time. Doing so, he alleges, allows him to "have more time" to do the things he wants to do on the fiddle... go figure.

Midori has a recording somewhere, maybe available only in Japan, in which she has this insane, impossible cadenza at the end of this piece. I wish I could find it. Anyone know what I’m talking about? She has a version like this one, too-without the insane cadenza. If that version exists, I would love to hear Roman Kim play it.

Я бы посоветовал Роману давать больше дыхания в игре, он играет слишком плотно и ровно по темпу. В погоне за виртуозностью, которая бесспорна, появляется механистичность, что обезличивает музыку. Все должно быть немного неровно - как в природе. Наверное с возрастом придет более одушевленное понимание пьес, которые он исполняет.

Despite the frets on the violin, and the sci-fi glasses, this violonist is a very good one. Too bad the other players are struggling to stay in rythm. He has a very personal one. His tone is outstanding.

I think its because he does so much left hand pizz, which strains the string more, so if a string breaks it won't hit his eye maybe Or maybe he just had a close call with a string break

@@madplayer5 I think he was just doing a glissando type slide up. Even if it was slightly low of a shift I don’t think it takes away from the performance overall. At least not as much as the poor orchestral accompaniment in my opinion

Does anyone know why he has these special glasses? Is it for stylish reasons or deos he have a certain issue with his eyes? Nevertheless his playing is wonderful! I am just a bit curious because I haven't seen such glasses before.

@2:35 the sound production is gone and it's back to raw microphone audio which is very unlevelled and harsh on the years :/ A shame cause this is otherwise beautifully played.

独奏のバイオリンの響きが良くないように思えます。奏者の技術ではなく楽器自体の鳴りが良くない。左後ろの方の鳴りが私好みです。 その楽器を使った独奏を聴いてみたいです。
