Nürburgring Nordschleife Tourist Guide | First Lap Experience

This lap was filmed during Skylimit Events Track Day when I was doing taxi laps with the Apex Polo GTI. Since it was my passenger's first ever lap, I decided to give him a little background info of the track.

Off subject do you think you could do a video on places to visit around the nurburgring for people doing road trips of a few days along with the best driving roads? We have had to defer our trip from the UK to next year and would be nice to get some tips from a local.

Then an other question, what do when you go with your own car first time ever on the ring? i mean what is importent to know or do, with you car ,insurance etc ( i drive a jd-engeneered (chiped and dsg tune) vw golf 7 1.4 dsg)

Have the right tools and mindset.

Make sure your car is in good condition, street legal, and talk to your insurance first (many insurances exclude driving on a race track even though it's considered a public road during tourist drives). When on the track, take it easy, CONSTANTLY look in your mirrors, and make way when someone faster approaches from behind - in a safe manner of course. Enjoy

I wish there was an option in Assetto Corsa to start from Breidscheid. It is so difficult to practice the 'back half' of the track if you start every time from Hatzenbach.

If you want to learn some specific corners you can turn around, drive back and drive it again and again. GT86 is the best car to learn the track IMO.

@@keishi7762 talking about cars, there is a e92 m3 mod which handles very nice. I always use it to practise before going for a lap on the nordschleife :)

I already knew this entire track from memory from a 2007 racing game. I never knew it existed in real life and is identical to the one in the game, I always assumed that it was a fictional in-game track. It's a very weird feeling to know exactly what corner is coming up without ever having seen the track...

Misha, thank you for your time and information provided for first timers during a tourist lap. I'm from Dallas, Tx. and went to Nürburgring a few Wednesdays ago with my cousin from Wiesbaden. It was great fun, a little wet but really exciting! Rented a GTI from RSR. The people at RSR were fantastic as well. A shout out to GT7 too for teaching me all the turns. Ciao und danke!!!

Misha, loved the lap. Could you do other laps in the GT 2 and the Mclaren 620R with the commentary? It would be good to have an insight into the difference between the cars regarding where to use speed, brakes, and how the cars handle/drive better or worse at different parts of the track/corners.
