Yeah, more than 55 years ago I went up to Southend in Essex with a couple of buddies. Alan owned the Reliant Robin, which, being a 3 wheeler was legal for e bike license driver. When we came to the unfinished northerly end of the M25, we had to go round a 270 degree round turn up to a bridge that crossed the dual carriageway we had just been on. Alan said to rear seat passenger me, "Pete move your bod to the inside of the turn so I can get best speed without tipping this beast over!" So I scooched to the right hand side like a crew in a dinghy. The little car leaned outwards more and more till I wondered how we didn't . .. . .. 3/4 of the way around the 270 degrees, SUDDENLY THE WHOLE CAR FILLED WITH SMOKE!!!!!!!!!!! No windows at the back, so I had to suffer until we pulled over on top of the bridge! We all got out and Alan popped up the tiny bonnet. (hood). to discover that oil had surged up the dipstick tube and all over the place, including thee exhaust header! We let it sit for a few mins, and some of the oil burned off. Then we carried on to reach the world famous Wonderland Raceway slot car racing venue in Essex UK! A day's racing later we toddled of home again with a slightly less smokey Beast!

People seem to think that driving on this track is a cake walk. Youre pushing yourself and your car to the LIMIT. Your Original 2005 suspension just aint gonna handle it. Before I went on this track myself I had my suspension components checked by a garage local to the area. My car was given the okay but the mechanic straight up told my friend 'If you race. You WILL break your car', Mine is an 08 Mazda 2 sport, His was an 05 Demio. At the time BOTH our cars were pretty much original all throughout. If you can afford to bring your 2020 BMW Msports here to race. You can afford to make sure its fit to drive it. Edit: It also doesnt take long to go around your car, Bump the panels, get underneath with a torch, yada yada yada. If you care enough about your car. Dont bring it here unchecked. The Marshals check the basics. Its up to YOU to check the stuff they cant.

So many continue to drive knowing there is something wrong with the car; flashing lights, slow, off the driving line. Is it the cost of the tow or what? They all know there are people driving at or near the limit of their car or ability and yet leaving debris or an obstacle that could wreck someone else. Driving the ring is a bucket list item for me, much like going to the isle of man tt or festival of speed is as well. But I would hope more people would think of the others on the "road" as well and stop in a safe place when possible so as not to ruin it for someone else. Part of any budget for doing something is to cover if something goes wrong or is that not something people think of any more before paying for something like this?
@imbethondion457229 күн бұрын
It is expensive to get towed off the 'Ring. But then it is even more expensive if your engine puts a rod through the sump and empties its oil all over the track, so it's definitely a gamble.

Much worse, the first white smoke incident seen here (the grey E36) is literally because the guy is driving around with a spun bearing or other internal damage (as can be heard by the rattling sound matching engine RPM). The white smoke simply started happening because whatever was broken inside caused a hole in the engine and thus automatically having coolant / oil leaking on hot stuff. This guy could have maybe saved part of his engine (and track cleanup/closure costs) had he simply stopped driving as soon as that noise happened.

Yeah I am so confused as to why so many AMGs came with open diffs as standard.

In Greece it's mandatory to have a fire extinguisher in your car. I am surprised that the Renault Driver from the Netherlands doesn't has one (2:18). Since the northern countries are suppose to be more safety aware, than the southern countries.
@lolookie168219 күн бұрын
In the Netherlands, the law basically doesn't require anything beside seatbelts - you don't even need to have a first-aid kit, a warning triangle or a reflective vest. In my country (Czech Republic), fire extinguishers are not mandatory but they are recommended to have. I have one just in case, together with five reflective vests (one for each occupant) even though the law requires only one per car.

Maybe the way they're mounted isn't the best. If it's anything like how the headlights on third gen Cayenne is mounted/secured, I'm not really that surprised that this happened.

The amount of drivers ignoring their issues in which let to huge risk to others is insane… holy fck Cars driving further with any kind of issue needs to be fined hard. These fines need to be higher than the cost of a tow truck.
