As a Kato Unitrack user myself, I want you to know how much I enjoyed and appreciate this video. An excellent explanation of how to use Kato track and to wire it in a helix. ...Roy

Thank you, Roy! Loving your channel as well...lots of good ideas! Now, if I can just work out why my own replies to comments as my channel disappear, then all will be well!

Hey Peter. The helix is coming along nicely. I can see how the Unitrack would make track in the helix much easier. Look forward seeing it in action.

Thank you, Ron! Yes, it made it a lot easier to lay the track, and even to wire it (although I did make my own Unijoiner feeders). Next video coming up will show the test locos running and the testing of the block detection.

Just stated watching your Chicago Sub build series. Great stuff, thanks for uploading. Strongly disagree with the way you remove the Unitrack joiners. Using pliers like that it's possible to damage the metal connecting part. The small plastic Kato 'tool' is confusing at first and isn't always a good solution but for the main it works well once you've got the knack of how it works.

Hi, thanks for your interest and glad you are enjoying it! Yes, agree about the method of using the pliers to remove the joiners, but the small tool just frustrated me and was pretty useless most of the time. I didn't damage a single joiner using the pliers, so pretty happy with my method, in fact I damaged a joiner using the supplied tool! I didn't apply too much pressure using the pliers.

Question: % grade ,radius on track sections?
@peter_borcherds4 жыл бұрын
It's about a 2.27% grade (according to AnyRail). I'm using the Kato 20-182 SuperElevated doubletrack pieces - 381mm (15") /414mm (16.5") radius
