it so doesn't fit the layout, and i so don't care; the Big Boy is awesome. absolutely enjoyable to listen to it and even more to watch all those wheels givin' the train hell. i think it needs to pull an ultra-modern intermodal train next...

Layout is coming along great. The reduction in locos/cars really enhances the appearance . Chessie is definitely a crowd pleaser. I may get the BLI Chessie Steam Special T1, but that will depend on if it fits into the hobby budget. If possible, maybe include some rolling stock and coupler maintenance into the upcoming locomotive maintenance video. Thanks.

those little gems were a micro trains release about a year ago maybe? i did a quick google and it looks like you're going to have to find them on ebay.

What brand of couplers have you found to perform the best. I have a few cars that just seem to misbehave too often and will be performing some replacement therapy on couplers and trucks also.

Micro Trains Line couplers - hands down the best couplers on the market. Easy to find, easy to build (or you can pay a little more and get them pre -assembled). They're very reliable.

Hi C Mastracci , looks like you have a big project ahead of you. Sounds like it’s going to help out a lot making more room for storage. Looking forward to seeing how you progress with the project. I do have a question for you. I have a Digitrax Zephyr express DCS 52 I know it’s a 3 amp system. Can I run 3 sound locomotives in a consist on one track and another consist on another track at the same time. Do I need to add a booster. And how do you delete a locomotive from the Zephyr express system. I have read the manual and I don’t see how to or I over looked it. Thanks for the advice and help. Thanks for sharing. so i haven't tried to overload it on purpose, but my DCS 52 has handled about 8 locos at one time - though not all of them were sound-equipped. I have a booster and my layout is split in half - roughly. I typically have two trains running the main with three locos each and then i have a local that i'm running with another 1-2 locos. in general, i've typically got 8 locos that could be in a power district at one time and i would say at least half of them are putting out sound. as far as deleting a loco - i am currently having some major issues with maxing out the slots because i've been screwing my consists. i actually had to reset the system once and that seemed to work but it deletes EVERYTHING and you'll need to reconsist. Page 36 section 18 of the manual tells you how to clear out certain memory items - so check that out. to delete consist and free up locos, go to page 17 section 8.3. i'm super bad at clearing my memory - i usually just shut everything down which is what caused my current issues.
