Looking great! Having flashbacks to installing my turntable lol Looks like a couple of your inbound tracks could still curve into the turntable 🤔 LOTS of power feeders in the yard!! Can’t stress that enough! Every turnout with power drops and every section of track between. The little N scale switchers just don’t have the mass to bump along turnout after turnout without stalling. The powered frogs will definitely help 👍🏻🚂 Reach out if you’d like to know how to power your turntable bridge the entire way around meaning the locomotive doesn’t shut down at the halfway point as it spins.

Hey nice layout! A step most people ignore is to sand down the foam where the track will lay before you place the roadbed. Then sand the cork again before laying the track. It really helps with unsteady benchwork- or in my case benchwork joints. Something to consider at least :)

When Working On N Scale Layout don’t Worry On How Long It Will Take to Complete.I have a Loop and Have A Couple Area’s That Are Done But Some Areas the Track Plan is Changing And I Am Learning to Understanding the Reason For It.

Very nice. The president of my model railroad club said that he had an N scale layout before getting into HO scale, and that while it's not as big as HO, it offers more options in terms of space.

Even if you have a track plan you design on paper. It is almost always a bit different in the real world. I like to pre lay the track to check it myself.

Nice progress! I can't remember if you have steam on your layout or not? I'm guessing so since your adding a turntable and roundhouse. Nothing wrong with that, but if it were me I would have ditched the turntable and roundhouse and used that for another yard and then where your new yard is now, I would have made that an intermodal facility, you've got the space for one and I've seen plenty in real life butted up next to a yard, but I'm happy to watch your progress. Keep up the great work!

I do not run steam which does make the roundhouse very unusual and out of date, but I always wanted to run one. In my mind its an old facility that has been modernized for current diesel locos. I had considered other options but I purchased that turntable long ago haha.

Looking very good, i'm not 100% sure but i think you can print Peco turnouts from their website on to paper for checking a plan, that's what i used found them great so i could order exactly what i needed.

I tried that before. Good for a general rough in, but not amazing for extreme accuracy. At least in my experience.

New to your channel so I don't know the history but you said you were working on that one spot of track for hours? Curious if you had looked at kato unitrack for your layout during the design? I have found the premade sections to be easy to design for. Wood these days sure isn't all that great. Dig and dig through piles to find something close to straight and true is a skill now.

unitrack isn't really my thing. I like the organic flow of flex track. But it does provide it's own challenges.

Are those the Tracksetta tools and if so where did you get them from?

Yes they are tracksetta tools. Typically you can find them in stores that sell lots of peco track or european trains.
