Wow, thanks for the update David. Great to see all the materials getting staged for the rebuild down at that end, so here's wishing you the best of luck. Hi Dave , glad to see you and hope you’re doing well. Looks like you are making good progress. I know you are busy away from the train room. That’s how life goes. I’m waiting on my first scale trains locomotives. I don’t know if told you but I finally have trains running on my layout. Just taking my time and enjoying the hobby. As much as I love the detail on my NS Dash-9s in the 'Rivet Counter' series I get as much joy looking at the older GPs and the SDs that I have in my stable.

Yep, I think it’s too easy to get lost in the chase of endless detail and in n scale it’s gears pretty delicate.

Hey brother, looking good. It sometimes takes setbacks like tearing stuff down to progress, but in the end it all works out. I like that new frame section, it looks very sturdy. I looked into sending a friend some stuff, he lives in Australia, and I'm in the USA. The shipping was pretty darn high, sorry you have to deal with that. Kato is pretty good at helping their customers, I'm very happy with Kato in a whole, ie; Products, tech support ect. I can't wait to see that coal drag with helpers on your layout, that'll be so cool. Bad teeth or good, you're still an awesome person, I am happy for you and know how you feel, my teeth are terrible. Soooo true about shipping. I sold most of my Aussie trains about a decade ago. I live in the USA too and the buyers were all in Australia. I stopped selling because the shipping just kept going up and up and up, and I had to charge double just to break even, and understandably, no one was willing to pay that much. My solution was to buy a display case where a couple of dozen really nice Australian locos now reside, and I still have the pleasure of looking at them.

Hi Ian, I really like both brands. The Kato locos run faster than the Scale Trains. The ST on the other hand just seem to run like clockwork. They may be down to the decoders, my ST are pre installed Loksound but I’ve used Digitrax and TCS drop in decoders in my Kato.

My local one in the USA is usually more expensive for N Scale items, plus don't have a wide selection as online shopping usually. And I always try to buy multiple items as the shipping cost is usually the same whether I purchase one item or for instance 10. So I wait till I have what I want for the same exact shipping amount :) Sounds like what you did for your Kato parts?

Where did you get the KATO frames. KATO says they are discontinued .
