Awesome! I've always day dreamed of having an operating signal system on my N layout. 🚦 🚦

Thank you! Yes, it’s fun! Just wish the signals came pre-built, as that would save a lot of time! But these kits are great and it’s so rewarding seeing them all light up

Very nice. I love that control panel. I can see eventually doing this on my layout. Great video Peter

Thank you! Yes, that will be the main dispatcher panel eventually, with local panels on Android tablets around the layout

Oh my gosh… That is awesome! I love it I totally can see how you can get bogged down with signaling and computer control. Thank God I don’t have that on my layout or I would’ve never gotten to scenery😂 Great video thanks for sharing keep up the good work!

I’m beginning to wish I’d chosen an unsignalled branchline 🤣 But it is fun and rewarding seeing them light up…just very frustrating dealing with the very tiny wires! But I really need to get started on the first bit of scenery. The ballasting will have to wait till the signals are in though!

Great stuff Peter, thanks for sharing as always! Those signals turned out really good. You will have to do some tutorial videos on wiring up the signals as well as building the CTC panel in JMRI when you have time. I'm ready but very nervous to start making and installing signals on my layout. Keep the updates coming. - Steve

Yes, I’ve already shot a few videos on how I’ve wired them to the Digitrax system. I’ve used CATS for the panel - a lot easier than JMRI panel. JMRI is better for old-style CTC panels, but CATS is for modern dispatcher. Pretty much drag and drop, yet it’s an overlay over JMRI. Wish JMRI panels and signals were as easy

@@ChicagoSubNScale I’ll have to go back and find them, must have missed them. Which was the one that detailed hooking up signals to Digitrax.

Ah, sorry, no, I meant I shot some video already, but haven’t edited and uploaded yet! Depending on work, hopefully will get it done next week

@@ChicagoSubNScale awesome, no rush and thanks for clarifying. I thought I may have missed it at first! 😁

As far as resistors for the signal LED’s, what value did you use? I’ve watched a signal build video of yours along with this one, but I’ve not heard anything about resistors, and I know the LED’s won’t survive without them! Help!
@ChicagoSubNScale22 күн бұрын
I haven’t needed to use resistors as the Digitrax TSMK boards that the signals plug into have built-in resistors. I think most signal control boards have built-in resistors so no need to add extra

The modern signal briges are now in n scale?
@ChicagoSubNScale2 жыл бұрын
These ones are, not the cantilever ones yet. These are new from Showcase Miniatures. Look at my earlier video introducing them.
