While Godfrey(Rest in Peace with Love) is a 1derful person and actor......Lichuan on the order hand is mean.......Yes, Lichuan, U R sick....but, time n time, n many instances, Lichuan has seen his lover in extreme pain, yet he ignored her pain....Why....why put her through so much pain. In the first place she did not care that U R missing a leg, she loves U for who n what U R.......But, U, Lichuan, choose to bring her pain. Maybe Lichuan just thrive on pain.......This drama is the best drama EVER.......Still waiting to part 2......MISS U GODFREY.....

I swear most Chinese has little understanding of psychology. There is always this martyr complex portrayed as heroic. It isn't. Tell her what is going on. Communicate from the heart and work things out. It Is better to have loved and lost and not loved at all. Can he tell how tortured and traumatized she was over the break up? He thinks he is doing it for her good?.Does he think unresolved pains will just go away on its own? My goodness! This is from a really really intelligent man practically with all the resources of the world available to him.

Just some clarifications if you didn't watch/grasp the drama plot ... 1. Most Chinese viewers/comments think that he should tell her. In the drama, those around him also asked him to talk to her over it. 2. If it were psychology/culture issue, his older bro.would have overrode his resistance & talked to her directly but they respected his right to privacy (not very Chinese). Both bros. grew up in Zurich & USA. 3. The problem is himself - his traumatic experience of having his parents died (while he survived) in a car accident & his grandma died of a heart attack after seeing him undergo chemotherapy made him unwilling to let her experience the same. He is also very stubborn & inflexible. Hence, he refused/unable to bring himself to tell her & didn't allow others to tell her. 4. This (scene) is 4y later when he risked his health/life to see her (after her last email). His purpose is also to talk to her to let go (of him) & move on (from him) - not a reconciliation with her. He does not want her to waste her time & youth** on a sick & dying guy being separated (in Zurich while she's in Shanghai) without future & happiness but sorrow & worries about him and to forget about him🙄. He's also concern that she'll not leave him nor accept their breakup but worry helplessly if he tells her the truth. 5. The problem originates from his abandonment of her 4y ago without explanation (just before they were about to get married), cut-off communication with her & did nothing for next 4y. Hence she has no closure to their relationship causing her emotional & psychological sufferings. He's also having a sense of guilt for 'seducing' her & rushing their relationship to marriage within 3 months when she was only 20yo then disappeared, breaking his promises. But he is making foolish mistakes upon mistakes, hurting her further & in turn hurt himself (but much later, he regretted his actions & tried to make amends but still unable to tell her his illness). * for Chinese, a girl's youth is precious a gold

If XQ kill herself I sure LC will regret for the whole of his life becos of his stubbornness never let XQ know his health conditions was in a critical stage,the best solutions was he have to share with her everything about him n let XQ make her own decisions either she want stay with him nor leaved him,poor XQ,this was a very beautiful love story but why they tormented each other too deeply despited both love each other too much❤
