WOW that is neat having lite signals, they look like they automatically change. it is so good to see the 18 all set up and running on the rails. It looks like a great set up to run the 7.25 gauge trains. thank you for the very nice videos of this location ! have a great day.

The signals work on track circuits or can be controlled by the dispatcher. Thanks for watching!

I don’t think I’ve seen #18 on your home track? You’re really High-Balling it here. It’s a beautiful railroad, winding through woodland. Very nice video.

Impressive layout, at least 5-9 acres? Very beautiful system and signal-semaphores! What a sweet railroad theme park! Beautiful nothing like this in Texas! I’m too fat for this, love life size trains.

Look up Houston Area Live Steamers

Looks like that would be a nice track to visit. Too bad I have all 7.5" equipment, not 7.25".
@MillBrookRailroad2 жыл бұрын
It's a good excuse to get some convertible wheelsets. Some people have convertible wheelsets, others have two sets of trucks for their traveling equipment and others have 7-1/4" gauge equipment and 7-1/2" gauge equipment.
@benhancock14082 жыл бұрын
That would be just a bit more work that I want to tackle, since my engine is a live steam 2-6-0. If I ever find myself in that area, I would just ride along on someone else's train.
@MillBrookRailroad2 жыл бұрын
@@benhancock1408 That is another option. I knew a guy with a beautiful Boston & Maine northern in 7-1/4 and he told me he had an identical one built for 7-1/2 as well. I know another guy who has threaded drivers on his 0-4-0 and he turns the tread and changes a set screw whenever he goes to 7-1/2" gauge tracks. I did some experimenting, though. 7-1/4" gauge equipment will run on 7-1/2" gauge track unmodified. Just not the other way around.

Well at least no derailments bye you 😏o and bye the way are you going to visit the mid south live steamers in Columba Tennessee and ever thought about using kinsferd bbq brackets
@MillBrookRailroad2 жыл бұрын
I don't think I'll get to Mid-South this year unless someone there buys a locomotive. I've seen people start their fires with charcoal briquettes soaked in kerosene. It's a popular choice with the small engines on the high line.

Those structures and tunnel(s)? are amazing. Did the #18 smile after stretching her legs a bit?

The 18 has run well since. I think that counts as a smile.

That New Haven #425 is a nice looking engine. Sounds like a valve timing issue though. That exhaust is very off beat. And unless he has bad coal, he is not keeping that coal bed in shape.....like too thick of a bed, or the engine is not drafting well. If he was climbing the hill very slow, then he should have put the blower on too. Maybe someday I will win a lottery that I don't play and buy a steam engine in that scale! I love steam so much. And my other interest is signals. That layout has loads of awesome signals....especially those semaphores. Awesome!!!!
@MillBrookRailroad2 жыл бұрын
The New Haven 425 was suffering from the wrong coal, but I agree with you that it doesn't sound square. I certainly don't have money to buy a steam engine but if I did, it would probably be a small engine.

That's a poor way of doing things the hobby is all about helping and having a good time not get out the way your holding us up sort of speek. I have over 12 locomotives built by me and my late granddad 7¼ inch gauge and down to 3½ inch we all have bad days and good days
